I drove my mate's VZ SS a while back, and I must admit that I was quite impressed. One thing that really struck me was that I was spinning the wheels on gear changes quite easily! :spoton: If I was going to buy a car now, and not mod it, the SS would be very tempting. However, I think the XR6T has much better modding potential.

that's an excellent point, I chose my T over the XR8 & SS because of it's modding potential, but I didn't give any thought to warranty or resale of a vehicle with a few grands worth of mods. My new ute comes with almost everything I wanted with no warranty, insurance or roadworthy issues & hopefully reasonable resale.

Cheers, Steve.

Another plus for the Falcon is the color range. The Ford colors are better and there are more of them.

And on gearboxes if you insisted on an auto the Ford offering is better and has tiptronic if you want it...that was with the BA mkI. But now the ZF 6spd is just light years ahead of the Expensive Daewoo offering.

2 more victories for Ford.

Back on topic,

My brother had a 6 speed VXIISS which I drove a few times & to be honest I liked it. I liked my T better, but the SS loved to be revved & the V8 sound is pretty hard to beat. The traction control was very intrusive ( you'd leave it off unless it was raining ) & it lacked low rev grunt, but other than that it was a nice drive. He was very impressed by the performance of my T with the Edit and we both considered buying Tornado's, but decided on Maloo R8"s, which we picked up a few weeks ago. I don't think the SS holds it's value as well as the T either.

Cheers, Steve.

I had the same issues. In all honesty, I think the Maloo is technically a better car. The reason I went Tornado was purely mod v bfyb. There's no way I could get a Maloo to go as hard as the Tornado does, as cheap and still have impecable manners and still seem stock from the outside.

Maloo is also a bit 'look at me' for my liking, and there's so many on the roads.

I still like the Maloos', but I enjoy wooping them even more..

I agree, they are a bit "look at me", that's why I got black, it dulls them down a bit & makes it a bit harder to see the poxy number plate surround. I wound it out today( on a private road of course ), it winds off the 260kph speedo in 5th gear at just over 6000rpm, these things are pretty cool.

What mods have you do to get your 1/4 mile time?

Cheers, Steve.
