Hi All,

Wanting to know if anyone has experienced a problem with an error on the air bag?

Start the car and the cars checklist of flashing lights etc go away. The airbag light located at the botton left of teh dash goes off after its 7 seconds.

when starting to drive the airbag light comes on. The sequence:

flashes 3 times (on, off, on, off, on, off) at 1 second intervals

pauses for two seconds

flashes 2 times (on, off, on, off) with 1 second intervals

pauses for two seconds

then repeats the above process three times then stays on.

Rang ford and they said there is a TSB for this error. She said something about two wires touching.

Anyone experienced this before.

I have leather seats with side airbags and the normal front and passenger setup.

I didn't notice the flashing sequence with mine, but not long after I bought the car the airbag light was staying on. Took it back to the dealer and apparently there is a problem with some cars with side airbags. It was either a bracket or switch somewhere under the seat that was faulty or loose. They fixed it under warranty.

I have just had this exact problem, and what I did to fix it, was to check all the connectors under the seats.

This can be done by removing the plastic trim panel next to the seat, and basically disconnecting and re-connecting the plugs, after which the problem disappeared :spoton:

Cassius, sounds like the srs (airbag) system is giving you fault codes...

recommend ringing ford and asking about the code which would be 32...... could be nothing at all but always best to be sure

best was to do it is to scan the SRS system. If the light is on it will store a code which can be used to check it out. saves time & is safer than pulling random parts apart. Also, as far as I know these do not have flash codes so the flashing of the dash sounds a little wierd to me.

Thanks guys,

When I was getting the errors I had already booked the car in to be looked at. Was interested to see how many others had this problem and what was done to fix it.

Regards
