G'day all,

A question for you knowledgable people on here! A mate and I are disagreeing on something. Would the 9 sec XR6T which is for sale on these forums (the white one) run easy 10 sec quarters with a just a strengthened ZF 6 Speed and diff ratio change? I dont think it would personally. With the car in exacly the same configuration as the 3speed Racing auto is at the moment.

Cheers

I think it would.

Adam has 440rwkw's, Craig runs 10's with 385rwkw's in his 4 speed auto. So I think Adam's car is more than capable.

The problem at this stage is getting the ZF strengthened, it will come in time no doubt.

If Craig (Geea) can do 10's with less grunt and 2 less gears, then its a shoe in that the BF 6 Speed could. Might even still crack the 9's. :fool:

I think it should once people start modding the zf box.. coz its like a sealed unit nowdays I think.. dont think u can modify it at all.

would be good to see what people can do with the bf's :fool:

It does'nt ,matter how many gears you have, 4 or 6. The point is down the qtr you only use tyhe gears you need to. In fact when Craig runs his 10's in the 4 speed I believe he crosses the line in 3rd with no requirement to hit 4th. So in the 6 speed it will not matter, dependant on ratio's you may require 4th, however you will not need 5th or 6th gear.

The principals in the new 6 speed will be the same as the 4. I would see 10's in the 6 speed in the the same light as the current auto.

But if you now have 6 closer ratio gears, then the revs dont drop as much between shifts, therfore more 'geared torque' available at any given time = 'better than 4 speed' performance. :crybaby:
