LOLPersonally I like to treat something that costs half a year's net pay with a bit more respect - but that's just me Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21306-new-xr6t-not-great-accelleration/page/3/#findComment-316048 Share on other sites

Mine had this happen 3 times in as many days and you could tell straight away there was no power. You dont hear it pop off either.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Have you changed the hose clamp for a heavy duty one? That one's really easy to do/access, so if you haven't yet the sooner the better. Just as a comparison, when mine popped off there was no boubting what had happened - LOTS of noise as it let go under boost! <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Yep, ive replaced all clamps with heavy duty ones. The pipe in question has 2 on it just to be sure.Apparently theres one down behind the turbo that I havent done yet. (havent got under the car yet to look)That's what Simon from Xtreme reckons too - in his experience, the two connections most likely to let go are the one on the pipe leading from the crossover to the top of the intercooler (front pipe, at the intercooler end where there is the useless spring type clamp), and the other on the pipe that is connected to the underside of the turbo (again, with a crappy spring type clamp).I've done both and may I say what a b@$t@rd of a job the second one is to do!! In fact, I had to ring Simon halfway through the exercise for some tips on how to complete what I had started! Ford certainly didn't make it easy to get that second clamp off, a lot of the time the clamp is facing towards the back of the car making it almost impossible to access. The dealer said the 3k service was a cursory thing. fhuck! My turbs gets really chirpy around 4 grand. No turbo lag but you really start to know it's there. Completely dead wood below 3 grand though. But I'm assuming that's 100% normal Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21306-new-xr6t-not-great-accelleration/page/3/#findComment-316130 Share on other sites

I had rung the dealer and asked him to check it as it felt sluggish... he got back to me a said everything is fine. Well when I picked it up, it was like a different car. has heaps of go!!! On the way to picking it up, I felt like I was on a first date, nervous and sweaty palmed. Worrying that I'd bought a lemon, and maybe XR6's aren't all that good.Well got there saw it, feel in love. Drove it and nearly ruined my seats with excitement. Couldn't be happier with the purchase....except one small thing.Steering wheel seems to be slightly down on the left side, and car pulls slightly right. Could this be a wheel align problem? (if running 17inch)If that's not the problem, get it out into a car park where the road is flat and drive it without your hands on the wheel. (Normal roads have a slight banking to help with rain runoff - hence a slight pull to the right) Edited 17/11/05 04:11 AM by Bain Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/21306-new-xr6t-not-great-accelleration/page/3/#findComment-316232 Share on other sites

When I got my new 6sp T is was tight to begin with and then took a few thousand km's to loosen up. I then had a new engine put in after 3000kms. The new engine was not that tight compared to the first, rather I found that the gearbox was the tightest link and also seemed to cause initial poor fuel economy. Im not sure about the autos though, however a work mate has a new auto V6 commonwhore and says its as tight as a nuns nasty.
