At the motor show I spoke with a Glenn Annesley of Stone Shield who quoted $350 for the front end. It looked decent on the car that was there, I am planning on using them once I have the bar repainted. A small note however he recommends that you should wait 3 weeks after painting a bar before protecting it, to let the paint cure properly.

Regards

Yes fpv are repainting front bars under warranty, bad prep on undercoat seems to be the culprit. had a july 05 gt at work with hardly any paint on the bar left. A ford employee had a GT-P for evaluation with the new monotube shocks dropped in the other day the GT-P was a looking a bit shabby so I gave it a wash-and removed half of the paint on the front bar!

that explains alot

I think I'll go down the zaino path with several clay coats as I was going to polish her with something soon anyway. but lets hope the panel shop can do a better job on the front bar than the factory :spoton:

do the XR's have the same paint problem now?? my mk1 T didn't have too many chips after 60,000k's on the clock

I will be calling my FPV dealer today about the state of my front bar also - I thought it was just mine. Every wash more and more stone chips appear! Geez, I don't even follow people closely! They can paint my back one also.
