its near the boot hinge so its quite exposed. I just checked dads and its got no rust there.

How many of you guys opted for endrust or similar? My au was endrusted from new and I found a tiny bit (smaller than that ba) under the bonnet.

I was washing the car this morning and notice 2 small lumps of rust in the corner of the boot.  Upon further inspection it looks as though the boot's been leaking for quite some time.

Mine is a 2003 so anyone who owns an XR around these period, have a look for signs of rust.

My car has done 35,000kms and so far it's had 2 diffs, a leaking sump gasket!, leaking radiator core and now rust.....

I think when I read the rust cover in the warranty it had 2 components - the first is just a 2 year general rust cover, the second is the 5 or 6 year perforation cover. I hope I remember correctly....

I'm going to reread my warranty - if there is a general 2 year cover, I'll be getting my local panel beater to do a full assessement prior to the 2 years and hitting Ford up for the full repairs.

2 years old.....WTF, that's not good enough from ford. They should cover it under warranty, but make sure it gets fixed properly not some half arsed effort :spoton:
