Wow - those 18"ers sound a litle exy!

I was just today thinking about the fact that I didn't buy the 18's and stuck with the 17"s

Maybe I did the right thing after all - the 17"s do a good job for me.

However, when they wear out, I will look to replace with Michelins or Yokohama's - unless there is a better option.

any suggestions?

When I had to replace the tyress on the back of my T I put Falken FK-451's on it they are pretty expensive but with normal driving heat in them they stick like Sh!t to fur.... even in the wet they are an awesome tyre.

Guys.......had to replace my front 245/40/18 today - got run off the road and into a medium strip by a person of asian appearance talkiong on his mobile phone! :fool:

The best price I found was at my local Ford Dealer ( I know it surprised me! ) at $477 and only $23 for a wheel alignment.

Not the best price - probably the worst price was $600 each. :crybaby: Yes that's right $2400 for the lot. This was to replace the original set that it came from the factory with - it did get 36,000 kms out of them.

This was from a tyre retailer in Bankstown - but no worries, its a lease car. I can assure you that I would have done some shopping around if it was coming out of my own pocket.

One point was that the car didn't need a wheel alignment. The old set were worn evenly and the alignment was still spot on - must be getting better at dodging Sydney's pot holes.

Fitted the latest bf goodrich g force profiler 18's to our car 2 weeks ago.

These are made by michelin cost about 300 each yes that is for 18's.

What can I say with our tune we had trouble with grip even with tractoin control on even in the dry but not with these they grip well and even in the wet it takes some effot to loose traction the tyre place said I should get at least 40000 km out of them lets see.

Won't get better than Michelin Pilot Preceda or Pirelli P Zero Nero in a 17.

Michelin is the best in dry (whilst still good in wet), Pirelli is best in wet (whilst still good in dry)

Latest Motor magazine has a test of some popular 18s (test car is a F6) but they don't rate the factory Dunlops very highly. I only briefly skimmed through the article at the newsagent so can't tell you much more.
