Posted 11/04/06 05:10 PM Share Posted 11/04/06 05:10 PM I was asking in a thread the other day, but failed to find it in a search, what would happen if I modded my Powerchipped car. I had a list of the usual mods. The answer quite correctly was boom and some smiley (buggered if I know where you guys get them). However I have been doing some more research and will put what I have found in this post.http://www.powerchipgroup.com/news/newsletter.asp (then click on the Ford Newsletter)I am seeking some advice now on what would be a good Moded package to run with a stage three tune. Now I am not anti nor am I pro edit, I have absolutely nothing to do with it. I have however had my car powerchipped and I am very happy with the result. As you all will know once the modding starts the bug bites. Hence I am looking further. I am interested though in your opinions. I enjoy the read and I will enjoy the responses.CheersScotty←Scotty, I've read the link and from what is said there and what I already know the Powerchip is crap. Have you had your car dyno'd to confirm your power figures and to check your air fuel ratios. Best option would be to decide how much power you want and then do the mods required to achieve this. The most important part will be a custom tuned edit. Any retuning on performance cars that doesn't use a dyno and give other individual readings has the potential to destroy your engine.Geea. Or do I have to get powerchip to feflash back to standard and then edit?Scotty

Took it to calder 1/4 15.5, 15.3.I spoke to them the following week about the performance and I was told that it had to be an issue with my filter, fuel pump, sensors, or a million other possible parts that my car has so I had it serviced with no issues yet the problem remained. In my opinion the product is not safe for the XR6T as mine was running out of fuel at about 3500rpm. The company is extremely hostile when you ask for a refund and are less than helpful when you have a problem.Don't do it as I learnt the hard way blowing $690.Try APS, Aussie car enhancements,HPF,nizpro or the other great tuners but not powerchip. I have not run the quater but I have had a substantial improve in power and drivability. I know this is only bumomentor, But is was substantial enough to know, not guess.I have not doubt what happened to you happened. My question though is I want more and just adding mods without a retune equals Kaboom (insert flash smiley here). I have been trying to work out what Powerchip can support in the way of mods and increased power. For the other suggestion of ripping it out and selling it. It is not a tangible item that comes out and you can physically hold. So a resell is not on the cards. If powerchip cannot support more power then I will have to get them to remove there tune and go back to standard tune and start again afresh. So I make myself clear, for those wanting improved drivability and some more power then it is in my opinion an good option. But as many warned me when I first came here, once you start to mod, you will get bitten and will want to keep going. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks, you cannot put an old head on young shoulders, the analogies could go on.So this is where I am at. For those that have in no unceratin terms told me it is Crap. I have not dismised your opinions. I would be a fool to, as I can see what you have achieved with your vehicles and had the pleasure to read many of your post during my time here.I will continue to do some research, as I am not back in country until Sep this year and a while to make the most informed decision I can.Jetute, your pakage sounds awsome, and if you had not worked it out, that is about what I am looking for.Cheers Guys and Gals.Scotty
