I am really going to have to get off my ass and get a power run dyno, to answer a lot of these questions, I must admit I am curious myself. Having said that I do not really understand dyno sheets like a lot of people here.

The claimed increases 300kw at the fly and 540Nm of tourque. Plus 11 psi of boost as apposed to 6 psi.

Seat of the pants response, it feels as though you have been driving around with fouled plugs and blocked injectors, and you finally get of your ass and get these problems fixed. It is just so crisp, and pulls hard. Add to that the increased turbo and induction noise.

Maybe if I drove a comparable edited car then I would love the edit, then again if someone pro edit drove my car they might think, gee there are other options.

Who knows, for those of us who for one reason or another cannot go crazy, with mods, I reckon the powerchip is a pretty good option.

As mentioned earlier though, I do need to get and meet some of you Guys and Gals, and make some comparisons.

An EDIT is far better than these powerchip things.I was very impressed with some dyno graphs of some stock edit cars at the last dyno day we had.

I to will go there but at the momment im happy with the UNICHIP and the power I make.

Why is it, that all you guys are so pro EDIT. I have to say the drivability of my car on a powerchip is superb. I realise there are limitations, like not being able to do much other than the chip were as the edit allows for continual improvements.

Nothing wrong with Powerchip there Scotty. What it is, is a "one size fits all" solution for stock XR6Ts. You don't get to keep the Powerchip flash unit though.

The EDIT boxes however, come with up to 3 standard tunes designed for stock cars (which the user gets to keep). You can also have "custom tunes" done, specifically for your individual car, mods included. Given that you have the box, you can flash any of the 3 tunes into your car as you see fit. Could be a different tune for different grade fuel for example, or different boost maps as some here have.

Given that you're running a stock turbo, I reckon you have every reason to be happy with the performance of your powerchip though. :msm:

Mate - no way a pre programed chip with 11psi is gonna we true. FOr starters at 8psi the stock injectors are maxed out at 100% duty cycle at 5500rpm, 11psi woul dsee you engine runing out of fuel at around 4500rpm and and having no power above that.

To prove that point a 10psi edit will see you run up to 250rwkw up to 5000rpm and then bang, no more fuel no more boost = no more power.

And all that is achieved by spending time on a dyno and adjusting variables in the ecu to suit. A plug in chip is useless and its safe to say you have been taken for a ride.

And on that note, a custom tuned 8psi map will make just over 300kw with around 560nm torque. If you tyres done spin in second gear, or you clutch doesn't slip then your not making enough HP as claimed. Simple.

Cheers guys, now I just want to put my car on the dyno and have a look. With all the different dynos and chart, and considering I live in Brisbane. Where is a good place to get a power dyno run?

Lets see what this chip is actually doing, I am curious.

They also have excellent power up facilities.

Von is an excellent tuner. :msm:
