hi all

I work next a foundry that pumps a sh*t load of crap in the air and lands on my car I have tried megs stuff that's crap the fallout sticks

tried klasse good but doest last and the fallout sticks

tried zanio not on bit of fallout has stuck and the paint looks heaps better than when I bought it and so smooth and because the dirt doesnt stick the car looks clean all the time . the stuff is so strong you cant remove it with dishwashing soap as you can with any other sealers you have to use prepsol its that tuff.

Zanio is not cheap but when you look at how much your car is worth its a small price to pay to make it that little bit better

And yes you have to remove all you old waxs before you apply any new polish or sealer

as if you dont all you will be doing is mixing your old polish with the new polish and not getting the best finish possible

here are a few good detailling sites eclipse is a good site to buy stuff from and the others are good to get info from some of the forums are fantasic esp autopia the guys in the us really go over board have a look thru the garage section and see some of there workshops and how much car detailling stuff they own

cheers

If my car has come straight from the factory and had no paint protection, would it have previous polish on it?

Do Ford cut and polish the cars or are they just painted and that's it?

Has anyone tried any of the Autoglym polishes? Don't know too much about them but a few months ago I had my car polished by a car wash place with the Autoglym polish - must say, the finish on my HgAg was great and lasted much longer than any of the Meguires products. I've seen an Autoglym sealant for sale and was wondering if anyone has used it?

Thanks in advance.

Rik Biel - I'd say FOrd just give them a final buff maybe with some cheap polish or something... as long as you use dishwashing liquid (I think they recommend an alkali based one like Dawn etc) when you wash it, it should be fine to then apply Zaino..

I got mine brand spanking new - complete with swirl marks from dodgy caryard washers - anyway, I washed it twice with dishwashing liquid and then did my zaino'ing and it looks a million bucks.. I think the claybarring removes a lot of the previous polish as well...

BOSCO - that is the best part of zaino hey, no dirt sticks to it and the shininess, especially at night with lights reflecting !! I find a quick hi pressure wash at the local carlovers gets it back to 95% spotless everytime !!

CJM - The autoglym stuff is sposed to be pretty good, not sure how it compares to Zaino cause I havent ever needed to compare, im happy enough with zaino hehe... although im thinking of trying hte Pinnacle Souveran wax paste stuff, sposed to give black and red a hell deep wet look..

When you have TWO BA's like I do, one is all expenses paid and is driven Monday to Friday, and the other is all expenses on ME, and driven Sat and Sun.

BA XT for weekdays, BA XR6 Turbo for Weekends. :pinch:

I agree, 6sp auto GT-P in black, but wouldn't be very practical driving ona building site and through sand and bull dust. I'd hate to see what would happen if a piece of earthmoving equipment backed into it... heck not even the XT is any good for that either!

And I doubt any of the above polishing methods would rejuvenate the whate enamel on the XT LOL!

hehe nah I'd go for a lightning strike with orange stripes GTP as the company car, it would make a nice contrast to my black F6 with dark black tint in the garage!!

Thanks guys, this is one bloody useful thread.

Thanks for the advice, I'll just put in the work with Zaino methinks. I'm really impressed with the reports of dust etc not sticking as easily (or at all) with this stuff. Big fan of that, as I work in an area prone to airborne dirt at times (and its not even industrial :msm: ).

Cheers! :msm:
