Software Design Group (SDG) is a well established IT services business which is now part of the NAQ Technology Group. SDG employees work as part of a diverse, multi-talented project team to build, deploy and maintain robust technology solutions. The two key strategic aims of SDG are to distribute and support the Membership 2000 application and to provide excellent IT support and services solutions to its extensive customer base.

SDG has a strong Membership 2000 customer base who in aggregate manages over 160,000 members in various trade unions and associations across Australia. SDG also provides Network, desktop and application development services to these clients as well as SME’s in Sydney and Brisbane.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Initially to gain a thorough understanding of the Membership 2000 application. Training would be provided to achieve this outcome.

Ensure all calls/faults to the Support Centre are handled by the team promptly, courteously and accurately.

Ensure that the team records details of each call and its resolution in the appropriate call logging tools as per Support Centre procedures.

Provide coherent and intelligent problem descriptions to enable the fault to be referred to SDG Product and Operations teams (Third Level support).

Assist in implementation projects for new Membership 2000 customers.

Undertake Programming projects for customers as they arise.

Maintain quality control on all Support Centre documentation, and assist with quality control for all other SDG documentation.

Provide constructive feedback to improve processing and to improve operation of the Support Centre.

Support all sales and marketing campaigns.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/PERSONAL QUALITIES

Tertiary qualification or equivalent preferred.

Ability to learn a new application and perform basic troubleshooting skills quickly. It is expected that this would develop over time to a proficient level.

Minimum 2 years experience in the following Programming applications:

o Visual Basic

o ASP

o Microsoft Access

o Microsoft .NET framework

o Microsoft SQL Server – Stored procedures and native SQL queries

Strong, pro-active customer service skills and an excellent telephone manner are preferred.

Personable, diplomatic, flexible, patient and enthusiastic

Able to work as part of a team

Able to work flexible hours

Experience with telephone based work or the capacity to rapidly acquire this skill

Familiarity with, or the capability to rapidly acquire trouble-shooting skills

The place is pretty good to work at, right on the doorstep of the new M7, and down the road from the M2.

Facilities here include plenty of doctors, awesome coffee shop downstairs, gyms, ice rinks, and plenty of chicks to perve at from your window seat.

The company also allows us to Salary Sacrifice cars, laptops, whatever.

The people are pretty cool, we all get along with eachother really well, even enough to do out of hours stuff.

The only problem being is everyone but me loves their holdens

Usually it's the other way round Know some lucky programmers on some very nice 6 digit figures. Programmers need to move up here, I need to go "south of the boarder"...lol.

No offence, but that's shocking pay, especially for Sydney! Glad I went down the network admin path and not the programming path. Also glad I don't work for an IT company (for some reason, if you work in an IT company, you get paid less?) and work for a large medical firm. Medical for the win.
