With the release of the new Territory, Ford has brought out a Reversing Camera for new Territory owners. This is standard on Ghia and optional on TS models.

I think this should be optional across the Falcon range. With alot of new/old family starting (eg your own or grandkids) there's no differance if your drive a FWD or Sedan, your're not going to see a little child behind you.

The question is do you think Ford should make the Reversing Camera optional across the Falcon range?

This would bring much ease to many Ford fans out there.

Too much technology!! People are loosing the art of parking... reverse sensors, cameras, whats next? A ford that actually parks itself? Be safe, be smart and reverse at low speeds with your windows down so you can hear whats around you if your concerned about kids running around.

Where would they mount the camera on a sedan?

And I suppose we should just have a bit more finesse when applying the brakes instead of that wussy ABS thing, :fool: ahh bugger it why not go back to tempered windows while were at it. :crybaby:

More safety, More good :spoton:

Utes are the blodoy worst, reverse sensors should be standard. :nono:

Very good points everyone.

It's a topic that could go on and on with everyone having there very own views to make.

Ute do lack some safety options but there becoming better over the years, but still can improve. Reversing Sensors should be standard on all new cars today, being Sedans - Utes - FWD list goes on.

As DaveO said and myself along with alot of other peoplein here,

Be Safe, Be Smart

DaveO,

I used to think along similar lines until I had kids of my own and live in a neighbourhood with plenty of kids running around all the time. The reverse sensors (which I thought were a big wank but were thrown in for free by the dealer) are very handy when backing out and you cannot see either side of the fencelines. Just because you can hear or see kids, doesn't mean they will do something stupid and still jump in front of your car unexpectadly. Hell, I even had a mid-20's clown on a skateboard do a u-turn in front of me as I was driving at about 20 klicks with the stereo on full blast and he still didn't even notice me.

Therefore, the more safety features the better - but at what price Mr Ford???

y Ford will be selling the kit for BA Ghia Territories to be retrofitted. Cost is about $700.00

There is no reason you cannot put one of these on a T with the colour screen, but I doubt many of us would want to drill a hole for the camera.

I have seen camera's that replace the key barrel of the boot, this might be a better option.
