I must say I have found this thread and  few like it recently as deteriating to pathetic state.

Nick is not a software expert, he is a tuner, and one who tries very hard.

He seemed to me to be describing what happened under two different installs of the SCT software.

Working in software we often see the effect of incomplete or errored installs or upgrades that do not fully do their job.

Often the software acts in ways we have never seen but you dont discount the user before fully investigating the issue.

He probably should remove it all and install again to ensure it is set up correctly but that would assume he has the time.

I think if we had a bit less of the attempts to undermine people and a bit more listening to what is being said or written (street Tuner and others) we would all benefit more from the experience.

If the help file you mention is missing Martin doesnt that show that the file may be damaged or corrupt there fore ANYTHING could be wrong with it!!

martins saying its a windows file not a sct file I think ......

martin I dont wish to discredit capa sct or you!!!!

you are my only chanel to sct and instead of seeing facts that the software in my case was malfunctioning / has failed me as you installed it

Nick one last time. READ THE SCREEN YOU WERE MISSING A WINDOWS HELP FILE.

dw.... as craig said I am a tuner not a software engineer! is it normal for a windows help file to pop up when activating or deactivating a scalar no hence my problem!!!! fixed now have access no problem!!!

This had no bearing on the software or the way it worked.....I installed the G revision database on your machine at the Melbourne training course two months ago. It was current then, generated that day. CAPA emails all its dealers to FTP down the latest databases as soon as they are released, which is why Barry had J revision when you were in Perth. In some cases - as you are no doubt aware - we upgrade the database twice a week. If you are not on the dealer email list then please contact CAPA. Its one phone call away.

dw....am on the list tim sends links quite often for data base but theyseem to crash on me so I dont use them often but barry gave me advantage 2.8.1.4 software from the 2.9 you gave me if I got that right!!!

you choose to ignore, discredit, and simply harm yourself and capa as a result!!!

You have NEVER contacted me about a database upgrade.

maybe you don't tune any longer but that did not stop you pushing the services of others did it?

I do some tuning still - to keep current, and to fix 'issues' that others create - but once more NEVER have I told one of your customers to see someone else, other than in the case of an SA customer, whom I told to come to me.

I have less than half a doz incompleted issues mostly due to outside influences or software limitations but when you ratio that with satisfied think you will find no equal!!!!

I dont care about your external influences. All I ask, and have always asked is that you present the product in a truthful and factual light. If there is a legitimate problem then let me know, but to suggest that the knock sensing of the system didnt work because a Windows help file is missing is plain stupid. I cant explain it any other way.

dw....martin one thing I dont go out of my way to lie as some!

keep the info from sct flowing and no problems.

listen when someone says there is a drama rather than discount it again there will be no problem!!!

ps: changes to knock control now work for my software and no longer a pop up window you or I cant explain it but it happened plenty of witnesses!!! as craig h say's it maybe the way it was installed!!!

yes think that is what he is saying!!!

hey it may well have been the install!!!

it may be other tuning software on the lap top!!!

but it did not work and now it does!!!

I can understand how this can seem confusing....but the help file was never there to begin with. Reason? Its an on/off switch setting and we didnt figure it needed an explanation. Looks like we were wrong.

The reason Nick could never 'see' the knock sensor settings is that if you intentionally tell the program that the engine has no knock sensors then it says 'ok' and removes their functions from the main menu. You must tell the software the engine has knock sensors again before it will show them up on the menu. Fairly logical.

Facts: dynowog's has cars pinging all over Aust has fed us bull :pooh:  since the days he claimed 330 rwklw with std injectors,valve springs and cooler yet cant make even 300 rwklw with bigger injectors cooler and valve springs and has constantly talked him self up and not a decent time to back up anything,yet has the hide to butt heads with a guy(tuner) who actually knows what the product can and cant do
