Weird Noise When Reversing?

well apparently I had to get my tailshaft 'replaced' and then it was going to be a 2-3 month wait for the machine which ford uses to become available at my dealer??

after a month or so they just 'repaired' it. sounded like a quick fix to me dunno if it held up as I sold the beast afterwards anyhow.

Hey guys, I have recently noticed a tink tink sound coming from the gearbox/tailshaft area on my BA. It happens if I stall it up in either drive or reverse ( worse in reverse ) I was wondering what the loctite fix was. Is it the nuts at the diff end that come loose or something else?

Sounds like I'm not alone on this either!!!

My T has done 38k(had it since 11,500) I too have noticed the audible metallic "tink" noise as well when engaging reverse...I have also noticed it recently when in perf mode when it downshifts ffom say 4th to 3rd and a couple of times when I have accelerated away from a standing start (no hard accel)....

I think that its my uni joint..will get it up on hoist and have a look (ZF 6spd)
