This will at least raise the transmission fluid temperature for the climate I live in (Canberra, bloody cold most of the year!) when first driving the car.This car is my daily driver, and gets driven around to work at times such as 6am. Under colder weather conditions there is no need for any of the thermo fans to activate, so they dont. One reason that Ford run the fluid thru the radiator is to also HEAT the fluid for colder temperatures. Ideally, Im using the transmission air cooler and thermo fan to assist in the cooling of the gearbox under high temperature situations. There isnt a great deal of room left anywhere to mount this since I have an aftermarket Intercooler that takes all of the front grill area. The reason it is where it is, is because there was enough room to fit it and the fan to circulate the air that comes in the openings of the lower grill. An air intake pipe of some description would probably be helpful, but im not sure where from in order to keep mud and water off the thermo fan and tranny cooler itself. It would be helpful though.The idea of using the thermo fans linked to the radiator fans is purely so I know when they are on or off, and can activate themselves when the entire engine is hot. Since the tranny fluid in the radiator heats the radiator fluid up when its hot anyway, even though the radiator fluid is running thru a 160 degree thermostat. The cooler the radiator fluid around hot tranny fluid the better. The idea is designed to assist the entire engine and associated systems to cool down.As we all know, heat is as big as enemy to our cars as HSV is! We want to blow away both of these enemy's!
