Guest xrtwpn Guests Posted 03/11/05 04:09 AM Share Posted 03/11/05 04:09 AM Look at it this way my car 9.9 auto fastest manual with the same power if not more 12 somethingAuto's are faster BUT if you go to a box like a lenco then manual is faster but a lenco is a BIG dollar box and they dont run clutchs and so on so its not really like your 6 speed manual box
markxr6t Member 476 Member For: 20y 10d Location: Perth WA Posted 03/11/05 04:15 AM Share Posted 03/11/05 04:15 AM PSIs question is about stock or airbox-only mods. XXXR6T ran 13.8 more than once in his 5spd T.Wheels and Motor tests showed the manual slightly quicker. I don't think there's much in it if the manual is well driven - and that's the key: its much easier to drive the auto well down the 1/4 than the manual.Stock: not much difference. Modified: auto much quicker down the quarter. Can anyone explain why LS1s are often just as quick with manuals as they are with autos? Is it just that there's no boost to come off during changes? Posted 03/11/05 04:24 AM Share Posted 03/11/05 04:24 AM I take my limited experience at the drags as an example. I have an auto T with an airbox mod and have run a 13.6 ( best ) but 13.8`s consistently. Are there any manuals out there that have run these times or quicker, with the same mods ?CheersPSI<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Come on Matt 13.6 for a std auto it cant be done

wippdaddy Member 41 Member For: 19y 1m 17d Posted 03/11/05 05:27 AM Share Posted 03/11/05 05:27 AM I've found in real world situations autos will generally be quicker. After a few friendly red light drags against my mate in a auto skyline which has about 100 fwkw less than mine I could not beat him unless I launched 'perfectly' mine being a Mk2 6 speed. Also these babies seem pretty hard launch perfectly without riding the clutch too much.Though when I did get a good launch I left him by about 2 carlengths to 100km/h. And... when we were both siting next to eachother doing bout 80km/h, me in third, I left him by about three carlengths, I guess that's the extra 100 fwkw showing up. Kinda spewin I missed out on the 6spd auto cause I woulda got that, but the manuals are fun and so easy to light up the rear treads at any time. Anyways that's my 2 bobs worth.
