Its not like the 98 ron fuels are rubbish, my misses shopping trolly with a stock zorst ect ran a 12.24 @114 tonight on ultimate 98.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Stock exhaust? I thought you fitted either a different dump pipe and/or cat plus the Typhoon intercooler, plus tuning and boost mods as well as per a previous thread you started?Either way, I had no intention of going to the drags earlier on during the week, so I filled the car with Vortex Gold on Tuesday. I actually tried draining the tank before the drags but I couldn't. However, I now know how the car runs on it's daily driven 95 ron tune.As per my previous comment, I will have another go, with the wastegate actuator replaced, running 15 - 18 psi boost (hopefully the engine won't become a rod-chucker), fixed clutch and decent tyres.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>It has a dump and cat but stock exhaust, it had a F6 intercooler, (still half the size of yours) Obviously tuning But I mean it did also run a 12.9 @112 with just injectors and a tune.. Stock everything else so a dump and cat and F6 intercooler have added 2 mph and dropped it 7 tnths. Not bad considering it hasnt been dynoed yet..... But that wasnt really relevant to my original question lol<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Hey Simon, how much boost you push through this 'shopping trolley'? 15-18psi?How do you determine the safety level of the tune when you don't dyno it? Seat of the pants feeling? Quick trash around the block with the wideband stuffed in the exhaust? How do you check for pinging etc?Not stirring, just curious. Obviously I must be missing something with my tuning methods using a dyno and scanning tools.

It seems the organic clutch doesn't like 4000rpm launches loading the driveline with the hand brake.Time for the semi-metallic clutchplate now.what clutch you running? I spoke to Mal this morning, explained what happened, and he provided me with a solution. Should have the new centre late next week.

Obviously I must be missing something with my tuning methods using a dyno and scanning tools.Your right jason obviously you must be missing something with your tuning methods judging the time you have compared to my misses car. As for how I tuned her car, Her cars done 8 runs on a dyno to run a 12.2, yours has done over 60 to run a 13 something.. dont think you should be asking anyone how they tune cars do you?If you want to run 11.5 or 12 or 8 or 2 or 1 pounds boost that's fine, I dont care, but dont sit there and judge others for how much boost they run or what they do when they run faster, Who goes to the drags and says Hey Ill race ya , but if you beat me its only cos I pulled 2 spark plug leads off, or im runing 95 ron fuel If that's how you wanna run your fine but dont make excuses if itrs not faster then one obviously tuned for 98 ron fuel. I dont want to have a slagging match with you jason and if you have an issue then you should have spoken up when I said hi to you at the drags. Now back to the topic at hand. God those F-6's are quick lol Edited 03/11/05 11:02 AM by Xtreme F6

Glad someone can keep on-topic.Jason- If you want a clutch to hold a 4000rpm launch, you might want a decent set of tyres that will allow your car to actually get off the line, and not transer the slip to the tyres, and further impeed your chances of cracking a 12..To clear up, I was not flat shifting into 3rd, I was going up a hill sideways all thru 2nd gear and stomped on the gas after I hit the limmiter in 2nd ( Jason can vouch, he was behind me... ) I was quick on the change - prolly 2 quick, and the clutch slipped. Plain and simple.. As Simon mentioned, if I was to flat shift into any gear, it would just go up in smoke, or as in the case after, slip..

You ran an auto with decent tyres for 12.2's. No comparrison.Even I'll drop 3-4 10ths with just tyres. Add an auto and I'd slip into low 12's too..So, Apples with Apples. My F6 is STILL officially quicker than yours. Now, make up your own thread, and b!tch in there..
