Well after 5 long months of not owning my own car I finally placed an order for a BF XR6T with the ZF 6speed auto...

Those who can remember me I wrote off my 1st T in June on the tullamarine freeway was lucky to work out of that f*ckin accident I tell ya..

the deal :)

Lightning Strike BF XR6T 6speed auto

18'wheels

premimum sound

and the dealer options I got were..

front+rear mudguards

bonnet protector

XR mats

dashmat

foglight guards

all up $50000 drive away :msm:

the actual dealer was Courtney& Patterson in Melb.. and the guy I spoke to was Ross, I reccomend any1 in the market to buying a new car to speak to give him a call cos he was very professional and told you everything pretty straight :msm:

Now the hard part is actually waiting fot it to get built, only 2 weeks approx, but since ive waited 5 months it should'nt be a problem! :spoton:

I am about to buy as well. I have been working the dearlerships over and private buyers for a few months now to get the best price.

I was quoted a total of $47,686.59 for a BF with auto, sunroof, premium sound, met paint, tint, and mats. It adds up to a $6349 discount when you add everything up. I was quoted over $8000 off for a BA before the BF came out.

I am still trying to decide if it is better for me to get a great deal on a BA or go for the BF.

I am going to be selling the car in 12-18 months and don't want to lose heaps in depreciation so it is becoming a difficult decision.

I must have a car buy November 28 as my current lease expires.

Good luck with your deal and great choice!

I think its the best colour that ford have brought out! :spoton:

the 6speed auto is standard on the BF XR6T and XR8, if u get another model BF its a $1250 option.. but there are two diffrent 6speed boxes, the premium model falcons get the high torque capactity box, also performance brakes are standard aswell, I took one of their demos for a spin today and the auto is sweet let me tell u! I had a T5 in my other T and have always been a manual man, but this ZF auto is the smoothest shifting auto ive ever driven. coming from a phase2 kit I kinda miss the power but the auto more than makes up it.. its going to be a November build so I can expect it within 3weeks :nyyaah:

cheers

"the 6speed auto is standard on the BF XR6T and XR8, if u get another model BF its a $1250 option.. "

not quite correct I'm afraid.

the 6sp auto is optional on the XR6T. standard auto is an improved 4sp. the 6sp auto is only standard on new BF v8 falcons and fairlane 6/8, territory 6's.

test driving a 6sp auto T today or tomorrow. hope the rain holds off in poo-town...

have been quoted $45.5k for 6sp auto with premo sound, with fleet.

haggle and haggle and haggle and get the fleet discount. go through a broker if you have to. they fall out of bed so badly pricewise you'd be crazy not to drive the deal as hard as the car.

cheers

Kurvey,

I had a look at the Ford site and they do not mention the 4 speed at all, only the 6 speed auto.

Are you sure the 4 speed is still available on the T ?

I'm quite sure the 6 speed auto is standard on XR6T and XR8

Its optional on the XR6 non turbo

cut n paste from the ford website, in the section on the new 6sp auto transmission

*Six speed automatic transmission standard on Fairmont Ghia, Fairlane, LTD and all AWD Territory models. Optional on Falcon XR sedan range and sedans optioned with 3 valve V8. Also optional on XR6 Turbo and XR8 Ute.

Sorry guys...

The good news (I reckon) is that because the vast majority of BF XR6T auto buyers will opt for the 6sp, it will quickly become 'standard' when haggling over price, much like you'd expect to get premo sound for next to nothing.

www.webwombat.com.au has a great motoring section...their writer gave the 6sp auto BF range a big workout recently
