No worries Zap. Nice to know whats doing. Just rang CAPA and they advised if I put the Ford program in (which I did) then no problems. Just put back the custom tune and go for it.

The only problem Shady is that when you next flash the F tune, it will be the old version of the stock tune. Ford will then know it has been flashed because they know the last tune was the overboost flash, yet the car does not have that tune now.

New tune + old tune = Edit

Quite possible on the sqeaky seat, a mate of mine with a march 05 build T had a squeaky passenger seat and there was apparently an issue with some wires and the way they were routed, they were touching on the frame of the seat and causing it to squeak.  It may not be a problem with all, but they may have issued a recall so all cars can be checked over time.

FUnny that, mines a Feb 05, same squeeky passenger seat! they fixed it at the 3K service...

mmm, that's a bugger. I was just thinking of finally taking the plunge and getting the edit. I'll have to reconsider at this stage as my ute isn't even a year old yet. I'm only thinking of warranty issues. I thought the edit would've stored whatever 'factory tune' is in the car at that time to the factory tune slot. Unfortunately not.

I sooooo want an edit... might have to do some other mods to start with :stirthepot:

Too bad the dealers can detect the edit....this may cause problems for some !!!!

According to a couple dealers I have spoken to anyway.

From my understanding the Edit itself is undetectable if the "current" factory tune is on the ECU.

If you have an older version or you have your modded Edit map loaded, they will be able to tell.

If Ford flash your ECU while you have a modded tune, they will just overwrite the tune with the updated tune.

Before they flash, the current version numbers will be displayed, that way they can look at whats on your car compared to previous versions etc.

It just like any firmware update, I can flash your firmware, but I can also see if your version has variations to the version previously installed.

Anyhow.....most dealers are pretty good so it should be right I guess.
