Hi guys

Given that we have a few IT gurus here I was hoping someone can help me out as I am no technocrat

Until today I have had absolutely no issues with playing Avi , wmv etc files such as those attached in the "Granny and road Safety"threads.

I now cannot play them as I am getting an error message saying that media player cannot open file WTF

Anyone got any ideas as I have not buggered around with any settings or configurations

Thanks in advance

How big is the file?

If it's under 2mb post it here so we can check it out. Under 10mb email to gadan@iinet.net.au and I'll look at it for you.

Failing that, you probably require a codec to run the file.

The most common one is DivX

Go to divx.com and download the player. Once you have installed it, give it another go.

Ivan the files mentioned are in the threads in my post. They are pretty small so should be ( and normally are) no dramas.

I will reload DivX and see how we go.

Thanks

I get a pop up saying the file name is unsupported. But when clicking ok the video still plays fine.
