Just a quick one

Best place in Sydney to get a 30k service on my T

What are the normal costs involved I am a mechanic by trade and it stings me to pay for general sevice work but it has to be done for warranty I think :censored:

Supply them with oil and a filter!!! You will save heaps...

Ask for a price first, then tell them to remove the items from the supply list and see what the difference is.

Just had the 30,000 service done.

Oil filter $9.44

Washer solution $1.02

Wiper blades $13.66

Shop supplies & Enviromental $13.10

Oil FMX 15W/40 (Magnatec) $52.50

Roatate & Balance wheels

Labour total $159.60

GST $ 24.93

Total amount $274.25

I was surprised that as I said I would be back at 1.30pm to pick up the car, I was SMSed that it was ready after 2.5hrs, 11.00am. I always thought they did the more demanding customers first.

And yes I did check that the Turbo heat shield had atleast been taken off. This was to tighten the exhaust/turbo and inlet bolts that has to be done on the T only models.

I feel heaps better, (extreme sarcasm.) Ford dealer in Brisbane, $340 for 30k service was the quote, + brake fluid flush, etc etc. Total bill $550+... Good thing it's tax deductible!

The one thing I forgot in the other post was.

Before taking the car to the dealer I took off the wheel lock nuts and put the std nuts back on, so they can rotate the wheels.

When I went to replace the lock nuts I was shocked to find that one std nut on the right rear was only finger tight. It just happened that a 1 in 5 chance I chose that nut to take off for the lock nut.

I phoned the dealer and advised them of what I found. I wonder if anyone will respond to me. I won't stay at home waiting for the phone to ring.
