I just noticed the little book also says the standard 6 cylinder should be running 10W-30 oil

The Magnatec stuff I just put in is 10W-40

Does it really make any difference?

The handbook does recommend 10W-30 for N/A. Magnatec 10W-40 is slightly thicker at running temp but would make minimal difference to fuel economy. I note from your signature that you are also on gas. I think Ford recommend 15W-40 for LPG so GTX-3 would do the trick although I'm sure that Magnetec would still be fine.

6.5 litres is what you need. The T's take an extra half litre because the turbo needs lubricating as well.

I'm not on gas yet - I have to wait for the tank so the first few thousand kms (I'm on 1300kms now) will be run on PULP - looking at around 5,000km to do the LPG dual setup install.

The oil I took out did look a lot thicker than what I put in - so whether it is a "run in" formula or not I don't know. But although it was dark - it didn't have any metal in it that I could see - might have been really fine.

My salesman said it would not do any harm to change the oil if I really wanted to, but it would not be necessary. I chose to do it.

By not doing any harm I'm taking that to mean no harm to car or warranty.
