Posted 31/10/05 01:59 AM Share Posted 31/10/05 01:59 AM Was a Expensive Daewoo fan but hate the look of the VY's and VZ's... Then saw a XR6 N/A sitting in the dealers yard and decided I loved it, booked in a test drive and was impressed, then I took a T for a test drive and my wifes exact words where "I see you loved it but your not getting one" so later that week I brought one...Just for comparison I also took a SV6 and Mazda 6 for a test drive, the SV6 was nothing special, gutless, ugly, unfinished look, expensive for what it was, and to get anything Expensive Daewoo which was good looking you are talking the very big $$$, and the Mazda, well the dealler really didn't want to sell a car... Guest schhhtodd Guests Posted 31/10/05 02:20 AM Share Posted 31/10/05 02:20 AM I hopped in one for a test drive , I had driven an SV6 prior, thing felt like a slug, liked the look of the new fords, thought if the SV6 was sluggish an XR6 wouldnt do too much better so decided on trying out the big turbo, havent regreted it since

I was deadset on a GT or GTP, then drove an F6 after weeks of nagging by the dealer - he kept telling me that the blown 6 is better than the boss 290 but I didnt believe him.. So finally I drove one straight away after driving a GT and he was right, and I was daaaaaamn wrong haha..so glad now I went for the phoon.. was considering a liberty B4, STI or EVO but in the end I just preferred the phoon.... Reason being I wanted a quick car and one that was good to mod, n/a's dont offer this and I dont like the XR8's. So I was about to buy a clubsport but then this came out and all the review and this site made such a good reputation for the car I had to buy one. As soon as the BA series came out I had to have one.. The Dealer said try the T over the 8 and the test drive coupled with the ease of modification clinched the deal. Best car I have ever owned for the $.RegardsM G

I was dead keen on a Liberty GT wagon but they were very expensive and my wife didn't like the idea of a wagon. Wife really wanted a Falcon, which at the time absolutely horrified me. I had always disliked Falcons and Commodores (FPV and HSV variants aside) 'cos I considered them fleet cars, boring and unimaginative, and common as hell due to their sheer numbers. I could see how keen my wife was on a big family sedan so I looked into it more seriously and decided that if I had to have a Falcon (the BA was a clear winner over the current Commy 'cos of the reviews, etc - I'm neither a hard core Expensive Daewoo nor Fod fan) it would need to be either an XR8 or XR6T. At first I was really keen on the XR8, always wanted a V8 for the sound and grunt. We jointly decided that the fuel factor was a big issue (and my wife hated the 'hoon' like bulge! ) so I the 'compromise' was an XR6T. How do I feel about it today? All I can say is that when we were looking I had never even heard of Edit and I'm bloody glad I didn't end up with an XR8. I love my T!!

New, Boosted, not an import..went to the local ford dealer, asked bout a XR6T Ute and they let me take it for a testdrive... it was the exact ute that my mate had owned and taken me for rides in on numerous occasions and jokingly told him one day that the only ford id ever buy was his ute...Well 2 days later I was the VERY proud owner of that Ute... and will never buy Expensive Daewoo again... Sold our house and had a spare $40000 to throw around and thought I would go upmarket a bit.Test drove a 98 BMW 528i (gutless) and 535i (marginally better) and also a 99 Lexus GS300 (very smooth and surprising go for a 3 litre). I was leaning towards the GS300 when whilst surfing carsales.com I stumbled across a 15 month old T with lots of fruit and only 16000kms. Went down to the local dealer, told them I was in the market for a T (just not brand new) and loved the drive. The missus gave the thumbs up (too bad if she didn't) and the rest is history.I'm now back with the blue oval and it still gives me a chubby whenever I drive it.
