hey everyone, ive just been looking at the specs for the xr6 turbo utes on redbook.com.au and I've noticed that the 03's are lighter than the mark 2 utes by some 200kg's :kissmy: ... It's got me dumb-founded as I can't see where the extra weight came from... Maybe the xr turbo has just been eating too many HSV's :glad::glad:

thanks fellas

Luke

On the subject of weight, and not related to utes, if anyone is wondering I visited a weighbridge in Mitchell, ACT (for free if youre carrying no load) and my XR6T auto sedan with no other options whatsoever and a virtually empty tank weighed in at 1600kg on the dot and yet I realise that this is a very long sentence with a lack of punctuation. I was not in the car when it was weighed. :glad:

Sorry to dig up an old thread.. but I was looking at redbook today and found the same thing... the new utes are about 1800kg kerb weight and the series 1 BA Ute is listed as being around 1580kg...

Can anyone shed any light on this yet ??

I seem to remebber that they changed the way it was weighed.

The earlier cars were weighed dry (no fluids) when they later weighed them with everything full.
