The car will be limited power wise by its otherwise stock components (only other change are a Typhoon CAI and BMC filter, but exhaust, injectors, etc, are all standard) so I guess I'm 'only' looking at something up to, say, around 260rwkw? I have a fairly conservative driving style, but will still occasionally give it some stick (WOT) both from rolling and standstill starts. I'd be interested to know what sort of power others out there with completely stock autos are running, how long for, how they drive, etc, etc. I know the easy/obvious answer is to just strengthen my gearbox, but it's something I'd rather not do if at all possible.Would I be mad to ask for one of Dynowog's 'mad' 98RON tunes that packs in a heap of torque down low, even if it was only used on special occasions? Or should I steer clear and not even be able to tempt myself with something like that? I'd also probably be getting a 95RON 'power' tune and a 95RON or 98RON milder tune. Auto was good as gold with a valve body mod and tranny cooler. It also made several trips to WSID and was driven reasonably hard most of the time That said I may have been lucky

vibe ute Member 158 Member For: 19y 3m 27d Posted 26/10/05 05:58 AM Share Posted 26/10/05 05:58 AM Hi Bugster,Ive done about 18000km in total, 13000kms of those at 247rwkw with no trans mods, not even a trans cooler, but the cooler was on my to do list. I drive quite enthusiasticly & have had no problems at all, even after about 20 hard laps of Winton & a day at heathcote. I think with good trans fluid & a trans cooler 260rwkw should be okay if you have the line pressure & shift duration set up with your edit.Cheers,Steve. It looks like I may have to consider at least a cooler, I do need the car to be reliable (I know, I know, why go the Edit then?! ). But it also seems that it's a bit of a case of 'luck of the draw'.I think the problem with the Wogedit is not so much the peak power, but the bucketful of torque it'll be pushing out at low revs - that puts an awful strain on the transmission, more so than high peak power. But yes, will certainly go for the firmer line pressure, etc, to try and ensure the 'box at least has a fighting chance of surviving!
