I know this is a bit of an ask but I am looking at converting myself to getting a Turbo.

Does anyone have any sound files of their car, eg. exhaust, turbo, bov...

I want to know how good they sound, or if the V8 sound is still better.

Thanks

I don't think you can beat the sound of a V8, sure turbo whistle and waste gate noises sound impressive, but V8's give that bulge in the pants (as they say).

The best sounding V8 ive heard is a SL 55 amg which sounds like a WWII spitfire plane or any amg.

Also for sounds try like limewire or kazza etc. Theres heaps there

Best Sounding engine,

Was in Melbourne late 2004, travelling through Brighton wanting to follow Beach rd to Chelsea. Stopped a set of lights and while waiting, turning at intersection onto same rd was Ferrari 360 Modena, wasnt doing anything excessive, but as he went through motions, I heard something that made me look around due to the moment of confusion...thought I heard Blow-Off Valves  ut subtle and quiet.

Lights changed, being front row I pressed on, wanting to take a look at the 360, the feeling of 'something not quite right' I began to feel. Both travelling at 70kph, on his left his window down;

ME: (yelling) 'WHY NO QUAD TIPPED EXHAUSTS BUT ONLY TWO? on a 360?'

360: (yelling) 'JUST PICKED IT UP FROM AVO!!!!!!'

ME: (yelling with anxious tone) AND???????????

360: (moment of silence had he spoke in normal tone) Its got 2 turbos...

Then he nailed it

Meallic ear piercing shriek and turbo wind up, wastegates and a not to loud, WRX being driven in a ramraid style BOV!!!

Havent heard anything like it since.

Long story to tell about a vehicle noise, but without it there could have been no comprehension of the sound it made, people were letting go of the steering wheel to cover their ears!!!

Needless to say, I didn't really bother, but the way that thing pulled and lept away whilst already doing 70-75kph, ENZO Beater, GT2 Porsche eater, Lamborghinni Murch...etc etc.

AMG SL65 Twin Turbo V12 at low middling revs. Sounded like a BF-109 lining up for a strafing run!

However. best I have ever heard was a new Maserati V8 Cabriolet giving it full boot up the big yamba hill in first gear! Absolutely orgasmic!

awwww yeh gotta love the sound of an AMG bent 8 !!!!!

I work on a corner where all the car dealers take their test drives, so ALL day there are hot and not so hot cars flogging it past my work.. makes any type of productivity very hard hahaha..

esp since we have all the major dealers - FPV, HSV, Nissan etc plus Ferrari, Audi, Maserati, Porsche, Lambo and Mercedes .. :msm:
