I just noticed that a set of air vents are missing on my BF XR6T compared to my BA XR6.  On the BA XR6, I had a 2 air vents closest to the windows on the driver side and the front passenger side.  But I just noticed that I only have 1 air vent on the driver side and passenger side closest to the windows.  Not a big lose, because my other half was always turning the lower ones off anyway.  But it's funny that Ford decided that one would suffice.

I get a frozen knee if I leave that vent open with the AC going, maybe that's why its gone, makes the car cheaper in price :spoton: :tosser: :tease:

vik...yea,I wish,on ya mate enjoy, and keep tellin us all about it :spoton: :tosser: :tease:

vik351 - thanks. I agree with you. Come to think of it, I got cold knees from the lower vents with the air con on when I had them too, so don't really miss them.

I've noticed that I get a lot of sun glare on the instrument cluster. Not sure why yet, but I suspect it's reflection off the gold satin color surrounds around the instrument cluster (because when I cover part of the gold satin surround with my hand, the result shade on the instrument cluster makes it readable). Could be that on my old BA XR6 I'd cleaned the plastics so much that I actually smeared them dull and so they were not so reflective... Or, maybe the new plastics for the gold satin color are slightly more reflective than the previous plastics used for the ICC etc in the BAs?

Hi guys, Sorry for being a touch negative lately with some of my feedback. I guess it's human nature to pick on things that annoy and just take the good things for granted... Anyway, I was on the fordforum.com web site (hope that's not booing and hissing I hear in the electronic ether...) and noted that someone there had found a paint swirl in his new BF exterior. It just jogged my memory that the the other day when I was washing it, I noticed what looked like a psychodaelic paint swirl on my bonnet no bigger than a 10c piece. It was just perceptible if you looked at it at the correct angle in the light - like it had little circles of yellow discoloration (against black Silhouette). Not sure what to do. Wondering if I should take it back to City Ford (I'll ask them anyway) to see what they say. Just don't want them to touch it up because I'm worried that it will be really visible then.

I was reading with interest advice about how to run in a new XR6 Turbo. Not sure what "lugging" means, but I take it, generally speaking, you should not go above 4000rpm in the first 2000km or so... I'll keep that in mind.

congrats on the new car and thanks for the pics, black looks sweet.......okay now for the important stuff, what is the new auto like??? do you like manual shift mode or are you over it and just let the box do its own thing?? are the shifts at wot considerably quicker than the ba 4speeder?

The new pattern on the seats is a touch loud for me, will have to opt for leather I think.

Thanks 347ci.

I think the auto 6 speed in the BF XR6T is starting to get the hang of my pattern of driving now (I'd love to know how many points I have now on the auto - it ranges from 0 - 200 but I'll be darned if I can work out where to see the read out - hint for Ford for the Mk II BF - make the auto transmission scoring readable somewhere on the dash...). In auto Performance mode, the car stays in the lower gears whilst I am driving about and in auto Adaptive mode (most economical) the shifts are so smooth I can't feel them. I mostly leave it in auto Performance mode. I hardly used Sports Sequential manual mode in the BA XR6 except when I was dragging someone, so I don't really do it now either. Tell you what, I can feel the power on tap in auto Performance mode - it's just a foot press away...

Mate, drive it in manual mode all the time(running in) so the revs are wandering, and drive it like you stole it,but that's from day one, lugging is not very likley in a auto, its when you make the motor labour, like going up a hill in the same gear, not changing down, but the grunt these things have got <_<:spoton::stirthepot:

vik...a mothered motor becomes a mother of a motor  IMHO

Thanks vik351, now I understand - good explanation which makes sense to me after thinking about it. Manual she'll be for while I'm running it in... (my other half prefers auto but I drive it more  )

Well, I really love the throaty fffvvvooommm sound of my BF XR6T. I didn't really notice that much in auto mode, but in manual mode, it sounds lovely. I never really had that good fortune in my BA XR6 n/a. Oh my oh my, the rumble from the exhaust as I take off from the lights... I've been keeping it between 2000 and 3000 rpm in manual Sequential Sports mode driving around during the day - putting into action my plan to run the car in in manual mode.

I think I saw someone in a phantom XR6 with rego plates similar to MISSXR6 in Coburb (Melbourne) today in near the corner of Bell St and Sydney Rd around 12pm. Anybody on this forum?
