Ok,

I read over this topic...

Got a better idea now...

but still wonder if I would be correct ?

Im going to take my centre muffler out and replace it with 2x Stainless Steel pipes to continue the dual system, is this correct ?

Also, removing the centre muffler, does this void any warrenty ?

If you want it loud and defectable then put in 2 straight through pipes.. If you want it loud (but legal) put in 2 hotdogs.

It will void your exhaust warranty yes.

Can someone tell me if my exhaust is standard ?

It is from the motor 1 pipe and into the cat then from the cat is maybe 2 - 2 1/2" twin pipes into the centre muffler and same untill rear muffler then into the xr6 tip which is one oval but 2 pipes inside.

It sounds stock as a rock! is this a standard one?

I thought it was a single system standard.

I have had exhaust places say "Go a 3" system" but wouldnt my twin pipes flow more air?

Can I still do the middle exhaust mod?

Just slap me if I sound like I have no idea  :msm: coz I dont.

All I want is it to sound good.

75mm to the cat

2 x 56mm cat back

Resiticted to under 50mm through the certre muffler and same again at the rear

yeah they all say "go a 3 inch system".............I say go get a friggn idea about what your doing. I'm just over exhaust clowns that are only used to putting fully sick sports exhausts on gemini's!!!! Ok deep breath again!!!!!!

If the centre muff is restricted to under 50mm, surely replacing it with hotdogs or pipes is going to free it up slightly as well as make more sound. I highly doubt that removing it will make the car worse like some exhaust clowns have tried to tell me. I'm going to give up on this until I move to another state.

The exhaust place I went to also said put in a 3inch straight through and only gave me blank looks when I said this would be more restrictive then the standard dual system. What size twin pipes are people repalcing their centre muffler with, 2.25 or 2.5?

I was right....third time lucky!!!! I found an exhaust dude that just sat back and listened to me!!!! He has put straight through pipes on the xr's before though, even na's but he's not a fan of the drone at all.......though he did have a thumping big V8 as his daily driver. He really didnt even have an opinion, just said he'd do whatever I asked (to my exhaust that is.....car exhaust!!). So I'll probably do this soonish (when I can run it in from work!!!) and get back to you Perth lads. Cheers.
