I have to admit, I think the new Phoon is great!!!

I was lucky enough to be in Sydney on the opening day of the motor show so I made sure I got there to check it out. I must say aswell, the Sydney Motor show was awesome!! We just don't have much to compare it to here in WA.

The Phoon certainly looked good, I couldn't resist having my photo taken in it. I have attached a couple of pics.

Time to start saving....... :msm:

Hey Leigh,

I just got back from Sydney last night and I got a chance to check out the Sydney Motor Show too.

The Phoon u have your pic taken in looks fckuing awesome in the flesh. I didnt really like the look of it in the pics, but in real life it looks HARD.

It looks boy-racer ish with the dark rims, and that blue - but that is the market it seems Ford are trying to capture.... trying to get some of the younger tech-savvy guys into their turbo-charged models.

By the way, you look mega familiar... I have definitely seen you around.. didn't go to Curtin uni by any chance?

Cheers,

Ross

The XR6 Turbo could also have a slim chance due to the price advantage over the F6 and 100kg too apparently.

I believe the F6 will crack about a 13.7-13.8 quarter with the ZF box.

I would look at updating to the BF Phoon purely because there is so much potential there. The handling may not be the same as one of the all-wheel drive cars but that doesn't bother me cos I am addicted to the fun you can have with rear wheel drive!

I certainly think that the Phoon will offer formidable performance from the factory but I wouldn't be buying it for its standard capabilities. What will be more interesting to me will be to see if Fords attempts at stopping modifications are successful on the BF range.

I would also like to know what the limits of the FPV engine internals are.

Either way, give me the phoon any day :spoton:

yeh well it also depencs on what tyers the f6 uses when it has the optional 19s on, tyers could play a tenth of a second in 1/4 mile and a few extra km/h in over all corner speed.

but I also dont think the f6 would win not if the evo and sti are in it.

You guys quoting 0-100 times are ripping yourself off, because basically a RWD that can get to 100 in the same time as a AWD is going to murder it from then on. I have a lot of mates with S15s and they love to take it up to the WRXs, basically by mid way through 3rd gear they have caught up to the AWD launch and from then on murder them. I think the fact that we are even debating what is quicker to 100 kays shows that the Falcon is a much much quicker car.
