ASNU Member 261 Member For: 21y 9m 23d Location: Brooklyn Posted 21/10/05 01:07 AM Share Posted 21/10/05 01:07 AM F6.When your setting up the tunes on the T do you usually run so much boost low down in the rev range as would of thought this would put extreme load on the transmission/Diff etc.I am sure you could get the exactly the same power output [305rwkw] with a more progressive power curve maybe. In a ute the thing would have to loose traction everytime when under power?.When cruiseing down the expressway say at 115kmph the boost would be nearlly on 14-16 psi all the time/Please correct me if I am wrong.Do you find it a better way of tuning these things for say quicker 1/4 mile times or drivability. Please note I am just asking a question as you are tuning these things everyday and doing a good job by the looks of it but why so much power low down?. If the customer wants that low down power you do what you can without trying to break things. None wants a customer with a broken diff, trans or even worse an engine. Both cars that have had gear box troubles that I have tunes one had done 80000 kms and was stuff before we started and the one that belongs to this graph was already slipping when I tuned it, My Wifes XR6T had been driven to Melbourne and back and done drag racing and of course daily duties to the school yard for the kids.Like I said noone wants broken bits. On my own car well that's a different story, I push it.. I push it hard.. I want to find the point where it cant take anymore so I know how hard you really can push.Iam sure you could get the exactly the same power output [305rwkw] with a more progressive power curve maybe. If overall Boost and Timing are the same then yes the peak figure should be the same. When cruiseing down the expressway say at 115kmph the boost would be nearlly on 14-16 psi all the time/Please correct me if I am wrong. In correct, when you are criusing you will be loucky to see any boost, unless your towing or going up a hill.. at criuse you wont. Do you find it a better way of tuning these things for say quicker 1/4 mile times or drivability.Problem we have is Ford gave us great engines but not so good of a car in thw weight department. When hooked up correctly the low down power and torque will make for a very fast car. None wants to have to use stoopid gear ratios or huge converter speeds as a result of a heavy car with no low down pull... again something everyone needs to be mindful off so they dont break things with Too mush power down low. With billet rods ect it isnt as much a problem. Please note I am just asking a question as you are tuning these things everyday and doing a good job by the looks of it but why so much power low down?.When questions are asked like this noone in there right mind would take offence or get fired up. Hope ive helped you in some ways, Keep em comming if you need any more answers ill do my best to help u.
