Disagree with you all love my lid on my cup holder,I thought the F6 and the GT still got them.I have never had a problem with mine and think the new style looks unfinished.

I couldn't image not having a lid. It hides my fone and BT headset when I leave them in the car.. I hardly ever use it for holding drinks.. ( doesn't hold IC cartons, dammit )

Also put the gge remote in there, and some small change.... shut the lid, out of sight, out of mind..

Yep, I was surprised to find the BA Mk IIs without the cupholder lids. I use mine to hold my mobilephones nicely. When I was checking out the BA Mk IIs (before I knew the BF's were coming along), I was disappointed that my mobilephones did not sit upright properly in the newer cupholders (but what the heck, some of you may well be saying - it is a cupholder after all...)

I was reading this thread thinking that I like the lid on the cup holders in my Mk1, but would not have them on the BF. Then I remember looking in the BF F6 at the SMS and seeing that they have put the lid back on.

I thought I would look at the pics from the SMS and low and behold the FPV cars have a lid...Here is a pic Chris took of the interior of the F6 Typhoon :spoton:

But I checked a few other pics and it looks like the XR's do not have them

How do the ones without the lids stop the drinks falling forwards if you brake abruptly?

I agree with those who have said they look unfinished without the lid. I've had my T for over 2.5 years now, and haven't had any problem with the drink holder. Only complaint would be that tall cups/bottles in the right cup holder get in the way when changing gears. But that's got nothing to do with the lid!

I'm about to order a new bfxr6t (with luxury pack) and have noticed the new xr's dont have these lids (look's terrible without) does anyone know if one can be fitted afterwoods ?

My advice would be that if you can't get it from the factory or dealer, get one from a wrecker (the whole cup holder). Would cost bugger all, and they're pretty easy to take off / put on.

the lid was a pain in the A$$..... especially with a manual.... my mk11 doesnt have one and am happy about it.... is actually better as with the mk11 you can now pull the cup holder totally out so you can wash it.

Trust me, you wouldn't miss it if you had one. I'm about to rip the :kissmy: thing off, damn thing is a bit FUBAR'ed on one side, think the previous owner forced it closed and hmm........annoying if it's not opened a certain way! :fool: Either that or the majority of them are dodgy. The NA's cup holder lid was a bit of a pain in the :fool: as well.
