Just got back from the SydMoSho yesterday, and saw BF

To cut to the chase:

BA F6 - rocks

BF F6 - rocks

To be more verbose, there was absolutely nothing ever wrong with the BA F6. The only reason I don't have one, is that the BF was waay to close to ignore when I came to be "in the market". I've always loved the F6. I don't consider the BA the "old"model, so much as the "original". It's iconic to my mind, as real against-the-grain type car (for an aussie sedan) when it was released. Full respect.

As for the BF, I like the change in style a lot. There have been many comparisons, or rather comments about similarities to HSV styling. From my point of view, FPV's use of mesh really differentiates them from the other mob. The only thing I'm not sure about, are the fog lights. They look ok, but I preferred the BA foggies more.

Having said all that, I'm still yet to see a BF F6, in the style that I'll be ordering. Why they chose Bionic for the demo F6, I don't know. I mean, on an XR, it looks fine (it's all the same colour). BUT! with the contrasting front and rear F6 bar, it looked wrong. It would look great with traditional colours like your greys silvers, blacks, reds, but not bionic. Says me anyway.

As for the 19 "Dark Argent" wheels - Only on Silhouette I reckon. I tried to like them, I really did. However, I've never liked dark wheels (particularly on light colours), and these (though the paint is amazing to see up close) don't do it for me. Maybe my brain is wired that way, but dark wheels just don't unless the car is a similiar dark colour. I'll be sticking with the standard 18 inch wheels, on an HgAg F6. That machined face (so sweet), double spoke design with Dark Argent colour between the spokes really looks good on the move, and shows up nice red calipers and big discs when stationary.

For my money:

HgAg manual BF Typhoon (HgAg with the Dark front and rear bars will be worth killing for!)

Standard 18 inchers

Premium Brembo brakes (6 piston Brembo calipers up front, 4 piston Bembo calipers at rear, as opposed to 4 piston Brembo calipers up front, and single piston "red" PBR calipers at rear).

Leather Seatage

FPV wheel, mats etc

:msm:

Nearly forgot. The BF F6 comes with an "FPV blue rocket cover" according to my brochure. NOW who says there aren't any real differences from BA! eh? eh?  :spoton:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

so is that what u ordered? or going to later?? gezz those 6 piston brembos will look verrrry nice.. well done on the buy!! :msm: if u ordered it

Nah I didn't order, though I was ready to. At the time, the wheels were really getting under my skin. I must've spend a good 30 mins walking around gawking at them (all the time trying to imagine them on HgAG). Then my brother pointed out that I could always get them later , and sell the originals. I did test the water though. The response I got wasn't encouraging. I was told that they were happy to take a deposit, but couldn't guarantee my pricing or discounts etc.

That ticked me off a bit. Maybe I spoke to the wrong guy, but I was hoping for more of a "no worries mate, lets see what sort of deal I can do for you" scenario, as opposed to the "place your $60-odd K here scenario" that I encountered at the show. Might be that I wasn't taken too seriously - despite me turning 30 last week, I still get asked for ID on the odd occasion (was nearly refused entry into the 'Cruise bar' down at the The Rocks later that night too) :fool:

Well I have approval for the F6 purchase and it will be a BF F6, black, 19's, Premium Brembo, 6sp auto and maybe the leather although I like the fabric style. Black tint :spoton:

I think I will remove the rear wing and go completly badgeless....full on stealth mobile :msm:

I like the front and rear bars on the F6, they have given it a unique identy that is so rightly deserves.

Apparently the 6sp auto is like a rocketship. The guy from FPV I spoke with says you put it in drive and hang on. You can only feel the G's and not the gearchanges. This will be my first slushbox that I have ever optioned in a car, I cant wait

Well the original is the only original that can be considered original. Anything else is a revision, and is just what the BF is.

Everyone has their opinion. Mine is that the BF looks unique, tough and will look most boner-inspiring in HgAg :spoton:

I'm glad FPV are going for aggressive styling. I hope that philosophy remains, as they're the cars that I want to buy.

much prefer the BF Typhoon as it at long last looks unique instead of a GT wannabe

not sure about the 19" wheels, sort of give me feelings of :msm: HSV :msm: ... simialr feelings about the fog lights

I reckon the current 18s are one of the best wheels to come from Ford (worldwide) and I'm glad they are going to be continued ... may get the wheels of my dreams later ...

the BA's are a good thing :spoton: "the original"

$68k on road .... Black, auto, leather, sunroof, sports steering wheel .... and chattel mortgage  ... November build :fool:

Love the BF F6. Much more than the BA which as others have stated looked to much like a cut down GT version. The F6 is a car that deserves much more than that. As for the 19"wheels, I love them!! Only thing I don't like is the single exhaust. Even the Focus XR5 gets twin exit pipes!
