I did ask the engineer about the chance of the BF mk2 having the DSC, and his answer was never say never.

I did ask about the Edit and the BF. HE said that they are working on ways to detect and thwart the edit on their ECU's. He did not say for sure if they can detect it in the BA. He did say there was new software on the BF in reponse to the Edit, but would not reveal anymore even when I pushed.

This guy was an engineer who worked in the FPV plant in Camberfield.

The first guy I spoke to was a Sales guy for Penrith FPV and he said they removed the DSC as they wanted to be infont of the competition

I told him it was a BIG step back for FPV to not have DSC.

I also found that the TC button will disable the DSC on the XR range, it does not have a different button.

Another thing I found out is the XR6T's are no longer partially assembled by FPV, they used to do the turbo and intercooler, now its only the sunroof.  Apparently they only do the intercooler and 6spot brembo's at FPV on the F6.  All the rest is done on the production line at Geelong.

I agree

Any time any manufacturer can't or won't make available features that appear on lower model cars they don’t look too clever. In this case cars within the Ford Empire are running Brembos and DSC together. What it means in the real world? Probably nothing but it doesn't look to sharp to be going through the product specification and seeing items that are available on lower cars being omitted especially in this PC world where safety is everything.

In some ways this BF FPV range is looking very thin. Do we actually know for a fact that the sound deadening improvement follow on in to the FPV range or are they continuing to use BA shells? : sarcastic:

I believe you have hit the nail squarely on the head..remember the thread FPV dealers with no FPV's?

I say they are taking all the unsold BA shells and putting them through the FPV line!

l remember one of the early FPV propodanga speils where they said all FPV's would incorporate the best of all safety features available in the donor car range. No DSC makes a mockery of that claim. No DSC for the same reason the T3 didnt have TC, not enough develpment $$ are being spent. Its about looks and image first, engineering and qualility second. that's why l am more tempted than ever to give the BF a miss. if others are thinking like me then FPV need to re-asses their priorities.

I've got to say Mondie I am not a happy chappy and I was to be an FPV owner come January, that's beginning to look like it's on very shaky ground!

It's worked for Holden/HSV for years and they have outsold Ford/FPV for quite a while....

Not sure what all the fuss is about, most of you guys (and girls) will disable the DSC anyway as it will spoil all your fun.

Not the point, I turn TC off when I drive but am glad it's there, on by default, for the missus or my daughter when they take the car.

It's absolutely ludicrous that the top of the range model misses out on something that a lesser model has.

I cannot believe that they have REMOVED a very important safety device.

I do not see DSC being a "luxury" it is a necessity

Anyone that has driven a DSC enabled car and used it in an emergency, understand why I have this view.

I optioned this on my wife’s Kluger and so far has saved us twice in 2 years from having a serious accident. Both saves were caused by other drivers and my wife on a wet road managed to safely brake, and steer at the same time around the problem in a 2 ton softroader without hitting anything. I have taken it around a empty wet carpark with my wife to see how goot it was, I could not spin the beast, and I gave it 20 minutes of trying. The only bummer is you cannot turn it off when you want to have some fun.

DSC WILL SAVE LIVES,

Giving some people a RWD 270kw+ FPV without this safety feature is bordering on negligent if it is deleted from a lesser spec BF XR.

FPV should open their wallets and fix it. Brembo's work fine on all the Euro DSC's why can't FPV?

I would not be so annoyed if it was not STANDARD on the Doner XR car they get from the Ford production line

I will not be buying a FPV until they include it :spoton:

Pity it's not on the FPV's, what a joke.

Won't affect me personally at the moment, as I'm looking at a FPV ute.

They now have TC, and ABS, so the required hardware is there... Why wouldn't DSC be available on the utes?

I thought DSC was just software?

It is but takes many millions to calibrate it for the car. FPV are being tightarses and think the Aussie meathead V8 (+F6) buying car public wont care or notice. WRONG :spoton:

No DSC? Man, I didn't even notice that missing from the spec sheet. And here's me worrying about whether to option the 19s...

I'm with you Zap, it wouldn't worry me at all if it wasn't standard on everything else.

Geez, BF just left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm already seeing options that BFII will have. I passed up BA because BF was so close, and am starting to regret it, even though I really like the new styling.

Waiting for BFII isn't an option though, so I choose to see my (future BF) as a BA MKIII instead. Hey, I might even have a custom MKIII badge made! Orders anyone?

Bloody hell... :spoton:
