As I hadn't heard any loud noises indicating that I stuffed the engine up I decided to nurse the car to a servo and check the oil level in the car. When I checked it there was evidence of oil being sprayed around over the intake manifold and some on the rocker cover, I checked the oil, bone dry. Thought what the f*ck, have I blown the turbo? Put some more oil in and ran the engine for 5 mins, checked the oil, sure enough bone dry again! Looked underneath the car and there's an oil pool.At this stage I started to sh*t myself, I parked the car and arranged ford care to tow the car home as the people who service my car (Centre Ford) were closed. On monday I arranged again through ford care to get the car towed to the dealer, my first concern that they would try and say I voided the new car warranty by punting the car too hard. Service guys said they would check it out and call me back. That afternoon I get a call saying my cars ready to go!!!!! Apparently the seal or gasket on the oil filter leaked all the oil out? I was happy I hadn't totalled the engine or turbo, but I'm a touch paranoid as to how things went down. One the car was just serviced 3 weeks ago (30,000km) two they didnt give me any paperwork to evidence the repair, they just said it was covered under warranty. My issue is this, I reckon they didn't fit the oil filter properly when they did the service and because they f*cked up I may have caused damage to the engine. If the car later f*cks up because it was driven (for about 10 mins) with no oil I have no evidence on what just occurred and no come back to Ford. And to add to my weekend's misadventure the tow guys f*cked up my front spoiler. I haven't called I suspect they're just going to tell me to f*ck off. Ford_Power Member 798 Member For: 22y 12d Posted 13/10/05 02:12 AM Share Posted 13/10/05 02:12 AM (edited) Another problem that can sometimes happen is that when they remove the old oil filter, the old seal stays stuck to the engine block. When they then put the new filter on, the rubber seal from the new filter is sitting against the old rubber seal that is stuck to the block as opposed to actual block itself! Obviously this is NOT correct and could easily be the cause of your leak. Also, this would indicate a stuff up on your dealership's behallf and thus the "hush hush" nature of it all.I hope no damage has been done to your engine.....Ross Edited 13/10/05 02:14 AM by Ford_Power Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/20678-hows-this-for-bizarre/#findComment-304466 Share on other sites

If they say that you don't need one stay calm and just agree....but say that you still want it stating you fastitically keep records of everything. Surely they cannot argue with that.I would not take the front damage lying down. If they have damaged it (and you have not signed any waiver) they are liable for any damage. It is not implied that some damage may occur during towing.Cheers Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/20678-hows-this-for-bizarre/#findComment-304474 Share on other sites

This causes it to pinch and it will eventually just break under pressure. I wouldn't worry too much about your engine, I doubt you have done any permanent damage.Ask ford for a print out of the service papers, they can do that for you on the spot. Talk to Matt at the service counter, he is pretty good with warranty stuff. Although I am still waiting on my service docs to come in the mail! Maybe you could remind him for me? Centre ford have been pretty good to me so far *touch wood* so I would be surprised if I heard any bad stories from them. I assume that MOFOCO pay for the towing, therefore, in the first instance, your repairs to spoiler may be directed to MOFOCO.
