Just picked up the car with the new PBR's installed. The garage said they had bedded the pads in. So I though go through the bedding in process again, and I'm sure they were getting better evertime I pushed the pedal.

I was wondering about the Ford dust shields that hide the callipers, if they went back on. The garage said they couldn't be fitted with this system. So not only have a got a better brake system but all 4 wheels look great to.

Cost all up, $1880 for the PBR Kit and $200 for fitting. So I hope this will add something to the value of the car when I trade it in a few years.

I am running DBA 4000 series with EBC Green stuff pads. They have made a big difference in the fade department, the pads sqeal a little bit when lightly braking but certainly do thier job well.

doubt it mate... better to keep your stock brakes in your garage... swap them back over at trade in time and sell the other kit for a a few hundred.... itll mean jack to the dealer at trade in time :spoton:

Thanks a lot for your replies guys.

I am gonna try to get the heat treated DBA slotted brakes with either EBC Green stuff. I really hope the shudder does not come back.

I use DBA 4000 series 6x6 slotted on the front with EBC Greens all round and a Dot5 brake fluid. I have just added stainless steel braided brake lines. Not a bad budget brake set up for a 99.99% street usage car (just under $1000 fitted in QLD). Interestingly though when the braided lines were done they said the old lines had a couple of heat bubbles in them and were able to be easily stretched when cold after only two short track days.

I was thinking to put the 4504's on and I have heard good things about the green pads also. I'm new to the idea of braided lines but they are better. The 4504 were $155 each, so plus pads and lines should come under $800.

I might get some performance brakes as well as I cannot stand the clunking coming from my front brakes due to the pads rattling in their shims. I am thinking of only getting the front ones done and get a pbr set up from repco.

question, do you think that doing just the front ones will be ok? I do not go dragging nor do I go to the track and I just want to get rid of that rattling.

PBR don't make a Performance kit for just the fronts.

Changing the fronts only would be OK as the PBR rears are exactly the same diameter and thickness as the originals. The only diff with the PBR rears is that they are slotted.

Changed my avatar today to my PBR's.

I had an automatic EL XR8 ,big heavy car sh*t brakes. I fitted DBA drilled and slotted rotors and Greenstuff pads. Awesome increase in breaking. However after a while the greenstuff pads leaked resin onto the rotors causing all kinds of problems.

This may be the cause of some peoples problems.

Also I would like to add that I drove that car hard up in Darwin and the rotors never craked, so I reckon its a crock about them craking, but I could be wrong.

Will be upgrading brakes soon on the T, so I was happy to see some good examples.

Enjoy all
