This time round, I'm not interested in outright acceleration and power.  It's about the look, daily drivability and satisfaction.

Cheers

Dave

If your happy not to have a car that wont set the drag strips on fire but can certainly hold its own on the street and you not concerned about the petrol side of things then the GT is for you and IMHO its the toughest looking ford in Aus,I've got just under 270 rwklw for $2300 and another $1800 should give me around 20-25 rwklw were as a auto F6 will cost around $1400 and put you straight into the 12's  Why I bought a V8 1 was that before my T's I had a super charged Au xr8 and I missed the rawness and instant torque,2/ I've had two T's and once the pwr bug get's you its hard to stop and I knew theres only so much you can do with the V8 (well before you have to spend some serious money) and 3/ I just wanted to own a GT :pinch:

Good luck with it Dave :stirthepot:

PS:But after saying that if I dont put a supercharger on my GT my next car will be a Turbo

Good comments DBOSS.

PASHEN was a very unique car. Even after 2.5 years, I never felt as though I could afford to be lazy or relaxed while driving it, such was the way in which it drove.

I don't want back-snapping acceleration now. I want a car that looks tough, still has plenty of power when I need it, and it must sound good. I miss V8's...

I almost ordered a Black GTP with white stripes and bonnet decals, minus the rear wind yesterday. You're right - it's the toughest looking car in Australia right now.

Still undecided though.

I HAD a GTP, I have a TYPHOON.....  :stirthepot:  I guess its easy to see what I like LOL and ive been a V8 man all my life.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Did you feel as though you were robbed of the satisfaction of the V8 when you changed? I dunno...my old XR6T was certainly faster and louder than an F6 would be. I'm not sure if I'll feel a bit of 'ho-hum' if I was to buy an F6. They do look great though...and they have a certain edge about them that I like.

Its a tough choice and one l think about often

Apparently the BF F6 is gaining a 19" wheel option, l am hoping that the wheels on offer will be those from the current GT-P. if that's the case then the F6 nudges in front as l am not big on the alloys it has standard, but love the GT-P's.

An F6 with the optional 19's, Brembos and an edit would be a good car for mid 60's l reckon  :stirthepot: Lighter, better handling, more fuel efficent and probably better resale than the GT all IMO of course.

Mondie, you're right mate. I LOVE the GTP 19's - they are the hottest factory wheels going around right now - much better than the Typhoon's 18's. When do we find out about the possibility of 19's on the F6? A black F6 with 19's, no wing, yumm.

Pashen, l would think details would be known at the FPV unveiling at the Sydney MS so not long to wait. It will be a tradgedy if they are a different design :crybaby:

19” STD on the BF GT & GT-P

18” STD on the F6 with Option for 19”

Brembos STD on both GT & F6

I have the 19’ on order with my new F6 ute

BTW Id never go back to the V8 as much as I loved my T3 ... :spoton:

Gotta say Dave, for my money, as brutally quick as the Turbo's can be and you of all people know how brutal that can be, I'd hazard a guess and say you wouldn't have sold PASHEN if that's mainly what you were after.

For my money, I don't think there are many T's that sound as good as even dad's old Sprint, let alone a modded BA GT such as DBOSS's and a Silhouette GT dewinged and with black ROH Modena's would be oh so horn. For all the extra power that the T's can have extracted isn't that useful out on the open road now days.

For mine: a Silhouette BF GT-P with Leather and 6 Speed Auto. Fitted with Mirror Tint, debadged and de-winged and a set of 19" Black ROH Modenas over the new BF SuperBrake Package. Lowered on Adjustable Whiteline GroupA Coil-Overs with Full Dual Exhaust (rumoured on BF anyway),CAI (perhaps Shaker),Underdrives, Throttle Body/Helix and custom Edit :gooff::wub:

...It's great when you can spend other people money :crybaby:

I'm sure however, that whatever you get will be another tribute to you.

Cheers,

Lumpy :spoton:

I'd be getting the GT and not hesitating in modding with a bolt-on supercharger.

Dealer here in adelaide does conversions and supports them through warranty period. 400 rwkw easy to achieve.

In my opinion, the standard performance of the Ford GT/GTP Boss V8's is below par.

But add a bit of boost, and it's a completely different ballgame.

The centrifugal belt driven superchargers give you all the smoothness and same economy as a stocky when driven lightly, but provide the additional rush at higher rpm that a car like the GT deserves.

Who wants to be eaten by HSV's at every opportunity.

Have some pride man.

Go the V8 + boost. :crybaby:

Dave Once you step upto a FPV I think it’s a class above most cars be it a F6 or a GT.

I first loved the Bulge and in some instances feared the vehicle with the bulge (even thought about fitting one to the F6) but now I fear the FPV with no bulge as its developing more street creed than the GT at present.

However there is something about the GT-P that is special in full trim that is awesome regardless of the power status. I did notice that on the PFV drive day that the F6 seats are no where near as good as the GT-P and after a few maniac laps you slip and slide in the F6 seat compared to the GT-P seat.

Apart from that in the Cabin there is little to no difference between the F6 and the GT.

The mkI, I feel was sluggish with to taller gears but I have a sneaking suspicion the BF GT with the Auto will show some real form and absolutely smash the MkI GT and some HSV’s STD.

Tough decision mate but either way I’m sure you will enjoy..

I’ve made my decision twice now and after owning V8’s in the Cooks Ba and my Pursuit Ute I’m now waiting delivery of my 3rd F6 and not looking back at all.

This Question will always divide this forum, so many opinions but still no answer!!!!

:gooff:

How about the FPV GT-P then drive into one of the many aftermarket workshops you often here being talked about and strap TWO GREAT BIG FILTHY Turbos which will no doubt spell the end for New Orleans :spoton:

Hell, could you imagine the sound!!!!!

Go on......do it!!! :crybaby:
