I have nothing plugged into my B channel. I need a new receiver though, I payed $3000 for mine 6 years ago and now when I look in the shops I can buy one with 5000 times the features of mine for $1000, its so depressing.Dazza. As in seperate high and low cables for each front speaker.Well at least I think he is, who knows with Cro!

Most of the weight in any 240v amp is in the transformer(s). you cant make them lighter without sacrificing something. Some brands are still making good amps that will deliver what you expect, but after spending 10 years in the electronic audio industry I just thought I should let you know that the main reason for the reduction in price is due to the use of components

Nick T Member 37 Member For: 19y 6m 21d Posted 02/10/05 03:22 AM Share Posted 02/10/05 03:22 AM Honest Gaza,Generally bi-wiring doesn't result in a better or improved sound, but bi-amping can improve the sound of things. It all depends on the power of your amplifier/s, how efficient your speakers are, etc. The majority of speakers these days (of course there are exceptions) are relatively easy to drive so bi-wiring or bi-amping will result in little sonic benefit. In saying that, you could always try bi-wiring, cause it doesn't cost you much to buy extra speaker cable. If you can hear a difference, that's great, but in my experiences I haven't heard any. I have heard the benefits of bi-amping, but this was in a high-end system and the speakers required the extra power that bi-amping can provide. In short, bi-amping is a very expensive way to possibly get a bit better sound from your system. All comes down to the old 'law of diminishing returns.' Funny that, this law could be applied to the XR6T I reckon - ie excellent all-round package for the money, and you have to pay a hell of alot more to get a small increase in overall performance (F6 Typhoon, Audi S4, BMW M3...) This of course would be wrong in many cases. This is separate from "Bi-wiring" of speakers.
