I'm just setting up my home theater system at the new place we're at, and am having problems with DVD video output.

I am using the Component ports on the DVD, Reciever & TV.

Component cable from the DVD goes into the DVD/LD IN ports on the reciever, another component cable goes from the Component Monitor Out ports on the reciever, to the only Component input on the TV.

I keep getting a "No Signal" message.

When I plug a single Component cable into the TV straight from the DVD player I get the same message.

S-Video from Video - Reciever - TV works

Analogue from Video - TV works

TV works on it's own tuner

Sound for DVD works through the reciever

Everything was working fine at our old place...Help please this is driving me nuts!!

Mate it could be that if your dvd has been unplugged for a while it has dumped it's settings. Some dvd players need the component out to be set in the settings menus and may be set to off by default.

It's all I can think of at the moment.

Cheers,

Dean

Given that one a go, thanks

I've set Component to Interlace, and also set the display as 16:9, still not a go-er :gooff:

I owe you a beer, no no, a lot of beer!! :msm:

I stupidly left the component cables plugged into the TV/Sat ports whilst troubleshooting to see if it'll work on a different port.

I just noticed it, and it works :msm:

Legend!!

One other question...

I can't find my center speaker cable anywhere...as an intermediate type thing (no shops are open now), which will probably become a permanent thing cause I'll think about it and say I'll do it tomorrow, next week etc...

My left and right front speaks have both an A & B channel.

Can I borrow the B channel speaker cables?

I've already unplugged the B channel and I can't say I noticed a differance during a DTS5.1 movie.

So the B channel is for Bass, and doesn't actually control a seperate speaker?

Got three ways in the front left & right.

I would say so Ivy, at least that's what mine are. Can you feel the largest speaker (of the three) move when in use now?

Bass is almost non-directional, so you probably can't hear any different but the neighbour's front door wouldn't vibrate as much!
