Some dvd players need the component out to be set in the settings menus and may be set to off by default. It's all I can think of at the moment.Cheers,Dean

I stupidly left the component cables plugged into the TV/Sat ports whilst troubleshooting to see if it'll work on a different port.I just noticed it, and it works Legend!! Can you feel the largest speaker (of the three) move when in use now?Bass is almost non-directional, so you probably can't hear any different but the neighbour's front door wouldn't vibrate as much!
