Although I have new XR Racing mags on 17s', is it worth lowering it?

People seem to like the King Springs, but numerous have not noticed a drop.

Seems there is a place in Braeside (Melbourne) doing it for around $220-$250 mark...

Is this correct, who is it and is it worth it??

And finally, does it lower the front as I'm already sick of scraping it at times??

thanks in advance.........

I had my car lowered by Herrods - I beleive they use king springs though not certain. Other main option would appear to be white line.

I had koni red shocks put on as well so total cost was quite a bit higher (Herrods are a bit exy anyway I think... ). Not sure of where you mean in Braeside...

My car is about 35mm lower than stock - so this includes the front - and yes it scraps a lot more and I also have to be very careful of touching the cat on speed bumps etc.

This can be an issue as I go to construction sites somewhat regularly...

On the positive side the car turns in noticably quicker, and has far less body roll through corners or when changing direction and is far more stable and sure footed.

The other change is with the slightly stiffer ride, it doesn't squat quite so much under acceleration - I suspect that this makes it slightly more prone to breaking traction under straight line acceleration.

Good luck!

Ben.

they must have chosen the wrong springs then!!!!! im more than happy with my king springs, ive used pedders in the past and found the ride to be more than average.... pleased with the firmness of the kings though!

I would do it in a flash Marcel.

I shouldnt have waited so long to do mine.

Where did you end up getting your done and approx what price $$$

cheers

Marcel,

I bought Kings SL and SSL from a forum member for $100. I think you can buy the set new for $220. Any suspension place will charge about $80 to fit.

$300, it a cheap mod, car rides better and looks cool.

Luke

It improves the look of your car. It does not make the ride any worse *maybe a bit better*.

But you will have to take care with going over steep road bumps, steep driveways and parking up to kerbs because you will scratch the front bumper.

I chucked in some Herrod springs the other day and am pretty happy with them. The ride height is good and they will drop a little more as they settle after a few more k's. They cost and arm and a leg, but I was able to keep my warranty in tact being that they were fitted by a ford dealer. The cost was $850 installed with a camber kit, wheel aligned etc. A lot more than springs alone, but camber kits aren't cheap. I noticed on my receipt that the camber kit was a K-mac job so they may have done the springs also.

Marcel I agree with Luke best thing I ever did. Reduces body roll, and if you get the comfort option you will basically maintain the standard ride.

Whoever said that it did not make a difference obviously did not get the right springs. The minute my king springs springs came out when I sold the car it looked like 4WD height!

Bets thing to combine the lowering with is a nice set of wheels which exassibates the lowered look even further.

It will cost approx $200 to get them fitted as the front ones are a biatch to fit. Also ensure you get a wheel alignment as well. Camber kit not required.

Here's mine with 19's. SSl Rear SL front. You will probably remeber it from the Dyno day at Autotechnique. :spoton:
