They've had to 'over inhibit' the stuff to 'water down' the fuel and bring it to within the regulations for australian premium fuels; 98.It won't corrode anything, even if you left it somewhere for 3 months, it just won't react while in the presence of these inhibiting chemicals... Infact, from what I've learnt about how they kept the fuel to within 1% of the 98 rating, this stuff has enough inhibiters mixed through to safely handle a 15% ethanol mix.And this will really get you..... A 15% mix would yeild a fuel that would have enough oxygen through it to theoretically be comparable to a 20hp shot of nos at WOT accross most of the rev range...Yep, its good gear, and it should allow some pretty psycho timing advances....that may be the case but from a tuners point of wview it wont allow me as much timing as mobil 8000 or bp ultimate but will allow me more than optimax vortex and the 95'sDW - You are NSW correct? If so, you are saying you have (assume multiple examples) better performance results from BP Ultimate, Mobil 8000 (or whatever they call it) - as compared to Shell Optimax (I hate it) and Caltex Vortex 98 (I'm assuming you mean Vortex 98).Mine was tuned on Caltex Vortex 98 (my choice) based on what meager research was available.I'm MORE than interested in your opinions here so without stealing the thread can you elaborate?Cheers. Can't notice any difference, but as I still had a fair bit of petrol in the tank, it's not yet running on 100% Boost 98. Will probably fill up on the stuff during the week and then get a good idea of what if any differences it makes with my car. Posted 06/10/05 12:49 AM Author Share Posted 06/10/05 12:49 AM Just filled up with second tank of the Boost 98 & have shown an improvement of between 30-40 km per tank. Will verify this on third tank but all looks good so far. At 2c a litre more than normal unleaded, that plus the fact it is cleaner burning and able to be tuned to an even greater power level you can't go wrong!
