Put my car in foir warranty as I had the dreaded brake shudder finally start up at 36000k`s,a slight creak in the stearing and the turbo duct x-section stared flaking.

Anyway it went to new oak ford and I am happy to say they are bloody marvelous.

Thanks Rob and the boys.

Brakes machined, turbo duct x-section replaced, retorqued steering rack and get this .

This is the big one,are you ready boys and girls.

Four brand spanking new tyres, free of charge thanks to the sidewall crack drama, bloody unreal had the original tyres for 36000k`s and now I have brand new ones. This is what I call customer service,I had noticed small cracks in one of the front tyresin the tread section but thought I will bring it up when it gets bad.

To say I am happy is an understatement.

Good on them for putting the customer first.

They have always been professional and courteous.

I thought I was doing well to 26,000klm before the shudder issue.

I have seen on forums pictures of the cracking on the tread and sidewalls. Does this mean Ford and Dunlop are now taking responsability for these faults?

Great to get another set for free. I will be looking to try something quieter when I eventually get to the end of the original tyres. I noticed the new BF claimed to have quieter tyres, I wonder what they run?

Anyway glad someone has good service from a dealer.

I'm taking my T in tomorrow for Brake Shudder and steering problems exactly the same as you had. I've done 37,000ks and have exactly the same problems except the x piece is ok in mine. Glad you had no problems with getting it fixed, mine's going into City Ford as I've taken it there twice already for a new radiator and power windows stuffed up. All replaced under warranty with no problems.

I took my T into New Oak a couple of weeks ago and I asked them to have a look at the auto as I felt some of the shifts were a little harsh at times.

Anyhow, I get a call halfway through the day and they ask me, "Do you have any software or edits to your car because if so the guys need to know so they don't accidently wipe it?".

My T is still stock, however I thought it was pretty good that they would actually check with me before they done anything that would have cost me $$$$.

Finally, a good service story from a Ford dealership.

...............SNIP....retorqued steering rack...........

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Can you please explain this to me as lately I've felt the front end to have a slight shudder or loseness to it when braking over slight bumps in the road.

It's not the brakes that are the problem. Definitely feels like something in the steering.

2fardown,

ford will put some shims in and do a retention on the steering rack for you under warranty, this should fix up the issue you have discribed as it sounds like slight rack movement.

Cheers,

Chooka

I have a distinct knock noise on half lock when turning right - seems to happen every time

Is this something like you are talking about?

I have a slit about 3cm long between the tread and the wheel on my back rear left wheel, this is the first ive heard of the problem. What should I do? Are all ford dealers aware of this problem do you know? A new set of tyres would be nice as I only purchased my car today from a ford dealer here in WA. :spoton:
