hey everyone. ive been reading about exhuasts on the site for hours now. im looking at getting one. everyone agrees that a high flow cat and centre mufflers are the way to go (keeping the rest stock). but my query is do this, or go for a 3" custom??? I dont want to go the aps ect track. I dont want to void my warrenty, so I dont want to flash it or uni chip the car. would a 3" exhaust do anything??? as you can see im real confused????

keeping in mind im looking at gainind power figures slightly not really for the sound. any input guys would be great.

cheers

I can get you a four inch dump pipe all in stainless - $550 which includes another circular flange to mate it. Bolts straight up to a four inch SMB cat. :nono:

If you don't want to mod anything except the exhaust save your money because unless you edit/piggyback you won't see any real gain in an exhaust mod alone.

I own a mk11 6 speed and I got the x force exhaust and I could notice a massive power gain. I have also added a k and n and the ss induction cai and there have been a noticable gain the car now rips 3rd gear and the waste gate is noticably louder

Without doing any tuning mods any intake or exhaust mods will have minimal impact with the potential to cause the car to go into limp mode through overboosting.

If you're not going to mod the tune with edit or piggyback there isn't much point in doing any more than altering the centre muffler. This is best done by replacing with hotdogs or straight through pipe, these are best done with flanges so you can replace back to stock if the need arises.

I payed $860 installed for the steel one but it has stainless cat and rear mufflier that looks hot. I dont think that this system could be beaten for value for money it all fits well and doesnt hang down at all. the note is awesome the car sounds smooth.

Any exhaust mods on the "T" that are designed to assist in developing serious power need to involve a high flow cat. A high flow cat and improvement of the centre muffler component of the car will be enough for 300+rwkw's. It's only when you sart going past this level that you'll need to look at the whole exhaust.

X-force will be releasing a new exhaust for Cars with 280RWKW plus, it will be a 4inch dump off the turbo with 4 inch cat, then a single 3.5 system with either dual mufflers or single muffler out the back, should be ready in a few weeks and will be less then most of the complete systems out there.

the price of there 3inch system has dropped to $1250 installed and is good for stock cars, go to www.bestmufflers.com
