Okay, I don't normally feel compelled to comment on things where some people have obviously taken something the wrong way, but in this case I'd just like to add a couple of comments.

Firstly, to ms700 I offer my apologies if the thread I started was a bit of the 'same old same old' type thing that pisses moderators off. I honestly didn't know that this type of thread had been done to death in the past, I didn't know they usually turned into cop-bashing episodes, and that certainly wasn't my intent when I began the thread. So my sincere apologies for that, I have learnt my lesson (won't happen again, sir!).

To plonky, one of those who missed the point - I raised the issue because I was seeking genuine opinions on whether the type of behaviour exhibited towards me by those particular law enforcement officers was normal, acceptable, legal, etc. I was not trying to say that all cops are bad, far from it - I have the utmost respect for the majority of coppers who are trying damn hard to do their job and do it well. For that matter, I respect pretty much anyone who puts in a great deal of effort into their job and actually feel sorry for those who are the brunt of abuse for actually doing their jobs (parking comes to mind).

I honestly felt that in this case they WERE 'egging' me on, that they were not acting within reasonable bounds, and in fact broke the law to catch up to me after my first 'squirt' (where I don't believe I even exceeded the legal limit). I was just trying to start a senisble debate on the matter, and I believe we are allowed to do that on this forum, are we not? :fool:

No I certainly didn't miss the point and I explained why I didn't miss the point.

The whole 'I got a ticket, the cops did this, the cops did that, how do they get away with doing this, I saw an unmarked XR6T with FPV stickers on it' etc etc etc etc et ad infinitum has been done to death.

In the past I have tried to ofer sensible answers to sensible questions and the thread, not matter how genuine they are, ALWAYS end up into a cop bashing thread more ignorant, moronic, stupid, arrogant and selfish people who refuse to accept responsibility for their actions and always seem to blame somebody else for being caught doing something that they know is wrong (even of they don't know the exact ruling of the law)

If, in the circumstances you describe, was how the incident unfolded, go to the local Police station and ask the Supervisor. At least you might get an answer rather then hypothesising with others who have turned your question into an excuse to display their pond life mentality.

Plonky,

Bugster did mention that he wasn't aware the thread would turn into a sh*tfight.

It was his first time, and he is a newish member here.

Lets just leave it at that, before this thread goes downhill as well.
