Wouldnt mind knowing how people fit aftermarket decks into the tissue box.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>im running 2 amps atm as it is....

XXX fitting a deck in the tissue box place doesnt seem as easy as I first thought. Can you get the doors off OK, if so we'll try using the front speakers for the signal?Alpine are bringing out something late this year that plugs into the ICC but I doubt it will be cheap. If I cant get a good signal from the front speakers then im going to spit the dummy and get my audio genius dude to put in a deck.

It needs to be angled enough to fit the 12" into the space (the gap is almost exactly 300mm), and deep enough to fit in the magnet.Gotta poke my brain to figure out the angles needed, but I think it might be trial and error on the day! Two 12's take up to much room and I have to take them out each time I put my surfboard in. Also the girlfriend says its really squashy in the boot with two subs!!! My car has the factory "prestige" system. Splits at the front but no factory sub. If I end up keeping my car I will end up putting a stereo in it to keep myself happy and this is what I have planned!1. Get a couple of good quality line level converters. This would give me front and back output for a 4ch amp to run speakers only.2. Get a couple of amps. The Response amps have RCA out so I can use the input from the line-level converters to go into the 4ch amp and then the output from the 4ch amp to a second big 2ch or mono amp for subs.3. For speakers I was thinking the Alpine Type R 5x7 splits for the front and Alpine Type R 5x7 coax for the back, can get these pretty cheap too.4. For the subs I would go a couple of 12 inch Alpine Type S, very cheap these days.5. Amps would most likely be the Response 4x100 for the speakers and the Response 2x150 for the subs, but I would bridge the 2ch for the subs.I have previously installed a couple of DVC 12inch Type S subs in a Civic Sedan running of the old model Response 2x150 amp (bridged ~450wrms @ 2Ohm) and they were getting punded so there is plenty of power there. Also the 4x100 shouls put out about 80wrms per ch @ 4Ohm with 12Vol, so that should be heaps to drive the Type R 5x7s. The boot would be a custom install, I would build a sealed box for the subs and hide the amps etc. I am a bit concened about the problem with engine noise in the BAs and also that my car will vibrate and rattle to bits after a while!!
