From a performance point of view FWD cars arn't all that but I guess the magna isn't really a performance car either.

Lets just hope the AWD one comes out, that would sell heaps better one would think.

The magna runs a faster stock 1/4 mile time than the Ford XT and XR6..

Heres a 1/4 mile registry of Magna's

http://ostat.com/dave/magnaregistry.html

Also, the 380 has 172kw's, its lighter, doesnt suffer the same fate of 25% drivetrain loss as our RWD's. Which will easily outpace the XR6 (non turbo of course) once again in stock form.

I love it when people just spit on a car because its 'not rwd' or 'a ford' when they really have no clue what they are talking about.

If a stock Magna can better a flat 15 quarter like a manual XR6 can then I'll eat my hat. And that's without the gruntier 190 BF engine and 6 speed manual.

I'd imagine the 3.8 will be too much of a handful for a FWD chassis, torque steer here we come.

there's a 8 page spread in goauto today..well worth a read. :spoton:

Just read the article in Wheels about the 380. VRX manual 400m 15.4. A manual Falcon will beat that pretty easily. I can remember a stock BA XT manual running around 15 flat.

The article in GoAuto was pretty poor as most of Mitsubishi's claims are compared to the BA, when the BF will be its competitor in the market place, so half the things they claim aren't even true. Seems like the BF will have better economy figures for both the 4 speed and 6 speed autos compared to 380.
