Accommodation

You must book your own accommodation for Saturday Night the 19th November.

There are 2 different places, that are close by (on opposite corners of the same roundabout).

Alpine Gables This is where the majority of us stayed last time, it has a restaurant / bar as part of the complex.

If you wish to stay here, Call (02) 6456 2555, mention that you are from the Ford Turbo Club. Your room rate will be $85 per night for a double or a twin room. Any extra people are charged at $12 a person.

Horizon's Resort is probably the flashest place in Jindabyne for those that prefer a bit of luxury.

These are all very close to the centre of town and are right on the lake.

UHF CB & Mobile Phones

Once outside of Thredbo, you will not get any mobile reception till the end of the cruise. For this reason it is strongly recommended that you get yourself equipped with a UHF CB.

That way everyone can stay in contact, the leader can relay information about cars, road hazzards etc..

If you need help with getting a CB, advice on which CB to get and which one not to get, etc.. Send me a PM

WARNINGS

This will be a very long weekend.

Sydney - Jindabyne is over 500kms

Melbourne - Jindabyne is over 600km

Lap of the Snowies is over 300kms

Sunday will in itself involve over 10 hours of driving.

The roads we are going on are very tight and winding roads

There are hazzards such as rocks, branches, etc.. lying on the road (why we ask you to have a CB)

The roads are very windy, kids and car sick prone siblings are not recommended

You have to consider all these circumstances before you decide if this weekend cruise is for you.

So who's in, and have you booked your accommodation?

Buffers + Miss V are in :k24t:

Could we consider a slightly earlier start from Mt Annan, say 10.30am

that would allow a bit more flexibility for the arvo, and should we arrive earlier , well that just leaves more time for fellowship and banter :k24t:

If I go, I'll probably be a late arrival on Saturday night as I have cricket that afternoon. Definately want to go cruising through the Snowies on the Sunday!!! :k24t:

Ummm, we'll see what the Mexicans think first on the times eh?

What ever time we leave, they'll have to leave even earlier.

It's 9am for them as it is, meeting on the outskirts of Melbourne.
