Second tank Shell 98 RON optimax on a trip again, only me in the car and driven easier coming out of towns etc than the first trip. Got 30k's less out of the Shell and no discernable difference in power. My view is that while T's are able to TOLLERATE 91 ron thay are tuned for 95 and that is the minium I would run. Posted 29/12/05 10:54 AM Share Posted 29/12/05 10:54 AM Have been running the new United Plus98 (98 octane with 10% Ethanol) @ 2c per litre dearer than standard unleaded for the past 2-3 months now & I constantly get 20-30 km's extra out of a tank! Win, Win!! When I can't get this I run Caltex Vortex, only 6c per litre dearer than std. unleaded. Unable to detect any power gains with the Plus98 but I am led to believe if tuned with this fuel I should be able to achieve an increase in power.
