the way the prices are going I may have to stick a turbo on a push bike to get arround.

Any of the recognised 98 octane fuels for me...

Interestingly - before I got the car edited - best fuel economy (averaged over 50k of travel) was with 95 octane standard premium by about 4% over any of the 98's (ran about 50% 95 and 50% 98)! Car is tuned for 98 now so that what goes in :k24t:

My feel is the car runs better if I mix up the fuels a little - motorbike loves the Mobil Synergy 8000 or the BP Ultimate but not so hot on optimax, so I probably run those two in preference to optimax in the car as well...

ciao

I am shocked to see people still using shell fuel maybe it's just whats avalible I run bp in all my cars and bikes, I ran shell fuel on my 02 drz400 and my 04 rm 250 and I kept having prob as you know no 2 stroke comes with a warranty so I asked the suzuki dealer, the first question he asked was what fuel are you running I told him shell he said stop immediatly this can f*ck your bikes espec the 4 stroke (drz400) so I changed and no probs bp all the way. damn these melb fuel prices.

I use vortex most of the time, works fine and as someone has already said you get 8 cents of with visa and docket :tease:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

My wallet likes the 8 cent saving and my XR8 likes the Vortex, who said you can't have your cake and eat it too?!

Damn, I've tried both BP and Mobile premium and both had the T surging and pinging its nuts off.........went back to Shell and no probs at all......

In fact I'm getting around 12.3 litres around town and down to 9.6 on country runs..........average around 520 kms per tank now.......

Still each car is different.......suppose my tuner tuned the car to take Optimax..

I use BP Ultimate in my stock T.

Mate told me too stay away from the Shell stuff - he used to work in the petroleum business and is a motor head and engineer - so I have a tendency to respect his opinion on these matters.

But then he is a New Zealander too !!!

Optimax makes mine run better, Ultimate seems to cause pinging, which hurts me as I've always been pro BP

For me, standard Unleaded.

Standard Unleaded returns the same economy as PULP.

98RON gave me a whole extra 2 KW on the Dyno over standard Unleaded.

Not worth the extra cents in my book

BTW Handbook says the Turbo is also tuned to run on Standard Unleaded.
