interested to see how you go qikin.

the other downer to running 100% ethanol is that the closest place I can get it is 45mins away.

with a 50/50 mix, 6 jerry cans last a bit longer.....

Starts a bit easier. Still might see if I can get a further tweak. It was richened up a bit on startup.

Hopefully a bit more if possible and she's sweet.

Gotcha. I am only about 10-15 mins from my servo. I take a 20l jerry just as an extra. The mob I buy from take 4c a litre off with any coupon so 94.4 is bloody good.

A mate of mine has an E85 tune on his nissan awd. 240awkw on E85

Like you he takes 3 x 20l jerries as well as filling as he is about 30 mins away.

Few questions about e85.

-What is the avg price /L at the moment?

-What are the long term side effects of running this fuel?

-What extra maintenance should we be doing to make sure the cars (ie, fuel system) last?

-What is the mileage like?

Cheers,

Paul

G'day Paul

From what I know. Others may add or have additional info.

99.4/l at southland fuel town. 95.4/l with any fuel docket

Don't expect any side effects as it is a cleaner fuel. Of course petrol companies might say otherwise. Brasil have been on ethanol for ages and usa has about 1% of the total cars on the road running e85. It's not new.

My tuner has done about 20 e85 tunes in the past with no one reporting problems with the exception of one with a rubber hose going bung. Not sure how many rubber sections there are but this one was at or near the tank.

I think there is teflon? fuel lines to replace any rubber if need be. Fully synthetic oil to be used, not mineral and change of fuel filter after using normal petrol.

Mileage for me is about 380 to 400 a tank. My avg at the moment is 15.6 but it should go lower. On eastlink at 100 it was avg 9L/100 today and a/c on 10L/100 and at 60 it avg about 7L/100. Take into account the price though. To be quite honest I am not even sure what 98 is goin for at the pump but it must be at least 30c a litre more.

Thank you for your response qikin71.

Is fuel town a servo? I dont think I have seen it before.

From what I have read it is better to run another tune but will a 98ron tune work with e85?

If not I might have to annoy my tuner for an e85 tune.

Fuel town is a servo on the corner of Bay st and Nepean hwy opposite southland. A yellow servo.

Yes get a tune for e85 as it requires about 30% more fuel.

I have a

98

100

E85

tune.
